A.) Elementary School students should be able to create an image based off the place they
enjoy spending their time. This could be the house they live in, someone else’s house,
their bedroom, etc. Elementary students love to share personal anecdotes and this
project will allow them to talk with their peers about their artwork. Students should
have a basic understanding of how to draw and paint.
RATIONALE B.) Students should be able to reflect on what kind of place they enjoy the most. This
project should help them gain insight about their identity as well as their peers’
identity. Elementary School students should be given a basic understanding into the
Impressionistic style of art and how to execute it. They should be shown impressionist
artwork for reference.
