INTRODUCTION

Many types of learners impairments can be addressed with assistive technology , including : writing
,listening ,reading and arithmetic. In addition , assistive technology can compensate for limited ability to
communicate , impaired problem solving and attention problems. Below is a guide on how you can use
this technology for different types of situation with your students. If you have a learning problem, it
doesn't mean you can't learn.

PROBLEMS

 Student are based ,inattentive , r unmotivated

 Strong student are dominance
 Student are unprepared
 Tardiness
 Misbehaviour
 Aggressive student
 Eye sight
 Spelling
 Hearing problem (deaf)

Considerations For Low Vision Students In A Classroom

For educational purposes, the low vision student is typically one who reads print and has a
corrected visual acuity of 20/70 or worse in the better eye. Most low vision students have very
poor distance vision, so this makes it difficult for them to see the chalkboard or to gather
detailed information from filmstrips, charts, or overhead screens. These students can usually
read print and gain information from pictures, charts, and graphs when the material is up close.
Each low vision student's needs are unique, but the following suggestions may be helpful when
working with a low vision student in the classroom.

Using the eyes does not injure or harm them. Encourage the student to use his/her eyes since
greater efficiency can only be developed through the use of the eyes for visual tasks unless a
doctor has indicated otherwise. The use of glasses cannot help improve visual acuity for all eye
conditions. Glasses may be worn to reduce glare and help with fatigue. Some students can read
ordinary type with ease; others may require large print, a hand-held magnifier, or a closed
circuit TV. The visually impaired child should be able to participate in most recreational
activities except for those that require good visual acuity. (i.e. dodge ball) Eyes cannot be
"strained" but may tire quickly. An activity that allows the student to change focus is often
helpful and appreciated. Holding materials close to the eyes will not harm them. Allow the
student to position materials at a distance he/she chooses. Check the student's folder for the
modification sheet. This will tell the classroom teacher what specific modifications need to be
made in the classroom. Remember, these modifications are required, since they are written in
the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Contact the teacher of the visually impaired if
you have questions or need suggestions for your particular room.

Projectors are an excellent resource for teachers and professors allowing them to present
subject matter in new ways. While projectors are quite a flexible tool for education purposes
but you’ll need to create a culture of eye safety in the classroom. One of the key health and
safety concerns about using projection equipment in the classroom is preventing
unnecessary exposure to the extremely bright UV light that projectors give off. By following
these simple guidelines, you can ensure your classroom stays safe and avoids any potential
for eye damage: Remind students not to stare directly into the beam of the projector.
Remind students never to look directly into the projector lens. At a distance of 4 feet, the
recommended exposure limit before eyesight strain or injuries is 20 seconds. Try to keep
the amount of time spent inside the beam at a minimum. Encourage students to keep their
back to the projector beam when working at any interactive board. Never turn to face the
class when in the beam but step out of the beam to interact with the audience.

If students spend a great deal of time in front the projector beam consider investing in a
neutral density filter than allows for brightness adjustments. Supervise younger children
at all times when the projector is being used. Close the windows blinds instead of
increasing the projector brightness This is adequate for most classroom environments.
If possible, mount the projector onto the ceiling or some other inaccessible location so
it’s hard to step into the beam or to look directly into the projector lens. Make sure the
screen or whiteboard is the proper size for the classroom. A small board in a large
classroom will make viewing text or other visual difficult in a large classroom. Increasing
brightness is NOT the way to correct this problem. Post health and safety reminders in
the classroom close to projectors to remind everyone of the rules for projection use.
Keep a bit of ambient light in the room to prevent eyestrain for happening. A perfectly
dark room with a large projected image can create eye fatigue.

DEAF LEARNERS

Students who have a hearing impairment require visual cues/ support in their learning to assist
their understanding of content. Teachers can use visual stimuli such as providing lesson
outlines, main points and any directions on or display boards to help these students. There are
always variables as to where a student who has a hearing impairment should sit in the
classroom. Ensure that these students are in a position where your face (and ideally the faces of
other students if they are participating in class discussion) are clearly visible, and where the
sound of your voice is least obstructed. Students who have a hearing impairment find it very
difficult to concentrate when there is background noise. Blocking out some or all of this noise
through closing doors or windows can be a simple and effective measure. Remember that even
if your student or students use assistive hearing technology, they do not hear in the same way
that their peers do. They will benefit from having unnecessary background noise to a minimum

Deaf and hard of hearing children have the right to a quality education, with the same academic
level and content as hearing children. They have the right to be educated, especially in a
language and environment that maximizes their potential. Hearing implant can helps people with
disability to listen and communicate, students with hearing impairment can study better and live
independently. Hearing implant could play a significant role to help learners with hearing
impairment listen and communicate meaningfully, and participate fully in the classroom
Speech recognition software is meant to enhance reading and writing skills for students with learning
difficulties. The students dictates their assignment, which allows them to practice reading aloud and
practice oral pronunciation skills. This is an excellent option for students with language-based learning
disabilities, such as dyslexia and limitations with working memory. These programs help the student
transfer ideas into written words. An excellent program that is widely used is Dragon software

LEARNERS WITH THE PROBLEM OF LISTENING

For students that have difficulty focusing on the teacher, personal FM listening systems
transmit a speaker’s voice into the student’s ear. This can help the listener focus on the
speaker. For children with attention deficit disorders, extraneous noise can be over stimulating.
Noise cancelling earphones are used for those easily distracted. Auditory alarms are used on
hand held devices to remind a student of schedule changes. Brain games can be played online
to stimulate problem solving in a fun and exciting way. Play Attention is a fun option that is
meant for children with Attention Deficit Disorder.

ou should consider the type of learning difficulty you are trying to assist and find a piece of
technology that is specific to the limitation. Think about where this will be used, at home or in
school? Is the device portable? How easy is it to learn and operate? What type of support does
the company offer? Is the device compatible with other technologies? By answering these
questions, you will be better informed before obtaining a device for your child.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the problem based learning may enable the students of my class to evaluate their knowledge
and to discover what they haven’t learnt. Moreover, it may enable us to be creative thus be in a position to
achieve the best performance in class using technology.
