Week of ______________________
Responsibilities
On January 20th, I was asked to be the production assistant for Training Grounds, Inc.
13thannual gala, as an intern of Dash Marketing. DASH, which was the production and
marketing behind the event, tasked me with operating the presentation on the projector, and
playing any supplementary videos. I also had to relay instructions given by my supervisor to the
event’s DJ.
Comments/Reflections
This was my first actual experience being a production assistant for an event. At least an
hour before the event, I ran through the show several times on one of the available laptops (we
had an extra just in case). Murphy’s law was in full effect because the laptop already prepped for
the show with the correct presentation and proper video files froze literally three minutes before
the show was to start and as guests were taking their seats. Internally, I slightly panicked for a
split second, but externally I knew there was no time to react emotionally and I immediately had
to make something happen. By some miracle, I was able to get the presentation running on the
new laptop began working right after the show had begun. There were very slight issues with the
DJ and the sound during the gala, but otherwise the show ran as smoothly as it could have when
switching between two laptops on one projector. At the end of the event, I received several
compliments about my work as a production assistant and was even offered possible future work
with the venue hosting the event.

Week of ______________________
Responsibilities
I had an orientation with Mrs. Hordge-Smith this week, and I also had a training with the
other new employees. The new employees were Christina Hordge, the Director of Digital Media,
Talent, and Event Marketing, and Essence Miller, the Coordinator of Digital Media. We were
given an overview of the history of DASH and how the company came to be. We were also
briefed on what type of clients DASH takes on, DASH’s scope of work and services offered, and
the overall message behind the company.
Comments/Reflections
I greatly enjoyed orientation and training because I was able to get a better grasp of what
I would be doing as an intern of DASH. I was also able to meet the new team members and learn
more able their roles in the company. I was introduced to the tasks that I would be given the
following week, which were to create e-forms for one of DASH’s client’s websites, create the
February newsletter for DASH, and to research venues for an upcoming DASH networking
event. I was surprised that I would have several tasks so soon, but I was excited and ready for the
challenges to come.

2/3/18 – 2/9/18
Week of ______________________
Responsibilities
This week, I began working on the February newsletter, the e-forms, and researching
venues. The newsletter was sent to many DASH partners, clients and potential clients. This
newsletter highlighted past events that were coordinated and executed for clients, future events
that would be upcoming, a blog post featured on DASH's blog, and announcements of new team
members as well as a new service that DASH offers.

Comments/Reflections
Creating the newsletter occupied most of my time this week, as there were key details
and components that were missing.

Week of ______________________
Responsibilities
This week I continued to research venues for a networking event. I also began to research
local businesses such as restaurants, salons, and healthcare practices that may need an updated
website. This was because DASH offers web design services.
Comments/Reflections
I learned much about what would be considered a user-friendly website, and what sets
websites that are user-friendly apart from websites that are hard to use.
2/17/18 – 2/23/18
Week of ______________________
Responsibilities
I continued to look for businesses that may need an updated website. This was also the
week that I had a meeting with my supervisor.
Comments/Reflections
The meeting with my supervisor was to check up on me and see how I was adjusting to
the workload combined with my additional schoolwork and to also give me assurance that if
there was ever anything I did not have the answer to, it was okay to ask her.
2/24/18 – 3/2/18
Week of ______________________
Responsibilities
This week, I completed the blog article post which was written by a former DASH intern.
I added my own graphic and edited the formatting to fit with DASH’s blog. I also completed the
February newsletter. I had a meeting this week with my supervisor, in which she told me that
although I posted the newsletter before it was completed, it still worked in the company’s favor
as they gained potential clients as a result of the newsletter being sent in an email blast.
Comments/Reflections
I was having a difficult time this week because I thought that since I sent out the
newsletter and it wasn’t completed, that I would be in a lot of trouble. Thankfully, things worked
out and I actually was given more responsibility as a result.
