JENNA OBERG
Here I was able to solidify so much of the knowledge that I gained about teaching throughout
university. I learned the value of long-range planning and developing positive relationships
with students and colleagues.
I also got the opportunity to lead an acting club every Tuesday at lunch for about the last
month of my practicum.
In this practicum I got the opportunity to work closely with a struggling student. He taught
me that all students want to do well and can do well if they have the tools to do so.
In this practicum I got the opportunity to work closely with a struggling student. He taught
me that all students want to do well and can do well if they have the tools to do so.
In this practicum I faced the harsh reality of the difficult lives some students face, so I
discovered the importance of making the classroom a safe space for them and becoming an
adult that they can trust an depend on.

While doing this job I was told that I have a gift with children and I was reminded how
wonderful children are and how rewarding it is to be adored by them.
During this summer I worked in the restaurant owned by the same people I babysat for. Here
I learned about the satisfaction of acquiring a new skill and being depended on by a team.

COMMUNICATION I danced for about seven years and worked in two high school drama
productions and these experiences taught me the value of teamwork,
commitment, and what it is like to be depended on. As an aspiring English
teacher I feel that I understand the importance of knowing the proper
rhetoric to use in various situations. Throughout my practicums I have
learned to take criticism and apply it to future tasks. In my practicums I
excelled at being adaptable and reflecting on how I can be a better teacher.
