1 Introduction
This Document describes Step by step installing windows server 2016 and activate the
windows.

2 Windows 2016 System Requirements

The following are estimated system requirements Windows Server 2016. If your computer
has less than the "minimum" requirements, you will not be able to install this product
correctly. Actual requirements will vary based on your system configuration and the
applications and features you install.
 1.4 GHz 64-bit processor
 512 MB (2 GB for Server with Desktop Experience installation option)
 Disk Space: 32 GB

3 Installation Steps
The following is step by step install Windows 2016 and activate the windows.

 Graphical Interface
1. Insert the Windows
Server 2016
DVD/USB Key then
Start the Server/VM.

2. Select the
Language, Time and
Currency format and
the Keyboard then
click next.

3. Click Install.

4. Select the Operating

system you want in
my case I need
Windows Server
2016 STD with GUI
then click next.

5. Accept the License

term then click next.

6. Select Custom:
Install windows Only
(Advanced)

7. Select New in order

to create the H.DD
system Partition.

8. Enter the system

partition size then
click apply.

9. Click ok on the
confirmation of
creating additional
partition for system
files.

10. Insure that the

system reserved
partition created with
size 500 MB then
click next.

11. Wait until the

windows setup
finished.

12. Click restart.

13. Starting from here

avoid to press any
key to don’t boot
from the DVD/USB
in order to don’r
repeat the windows
installation.

14. Wait until the

Windows getting
ready.

15. Windows will reboot

again please avoid
to press any key to
don’t boot from the
DVD/USB.

16. Choose the Local

administrator
password and
repeat entering it
then click finished.

17. Press Alt + Ctrl and

delete to login.

18. Enter the

administrator
password that you
choose on step 16
the click enter.

19. The first step after

the installation is to
enter windows
product key and
activate the
windows, to do that
you need to run the
command
20. You will receive
message
confirmation for the
successful product
key change, click ok
and reboot the
server.

21. Once you activate

the server, open
Server Manager,
you can start install
the server role or
features.
