Sequences in brackets should be done as many times as the number after the asterisk says - for instance
(inc, sc 2)*4 = inc, sc 2, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 2.

(see Figure 1).
Fasten off leaving long thread for assembly. Make the other ear following the same pattern.

TAIL
Prepare about 40 pieces of color C yarn. Each should be about 40 cm (17 inches) long. The easiest way to
prepare it is to wind the yarn forty times around the longer edge of any A5 notebook and cut at one side (see
Figure 3 and Figure 4).
Tie a knot in the middle of all yarn pieces (see Figure 5).

HEAD & NECK
Start with color A. Use the tapestry crochet technique for changing colors – the last loop of the previous stitch
before the actual color change should be already done with a new color. Mark stitches written in red color
(in R06) with stitch markers. They are the points where you will attach the eyes.

Stuff the head.
Pin the mane to the head as shown in Figure 14 (RS of the mane should face RS of the head) and sew both
parts together, placing seams between puff stitches (see Figure 15).
Figure 14 Figure 15
Embroider nostrils with black thread as shown in Figure 16 (two seams per nostril).
Sew glass eyes to the points marked with stitch markers (see Figure 17). Embroider a black line that begins
one stitch before the eye and ends one stitch after it. Gently push the black yarn under the eye
(see Figure 19). Embroider another line the same way and push the black yarn under the eye from the other
side of the eye (see Figure 20).
Continue crocheting the body, following the pattern on the next page.

BODY
Mark the stitch written in red color (in R28) with a stitch marker. It is a point where the tail will be attached.
Using your crochet hook, pull the tail, thread by thread, through the point you marked with the stitch marker
(see Figure 22 and Figure 23). The knot should stay on the WS of the shape (see Figure 25).
