SCHOOL NEWS

PTG GENERAL MEETING: We welcome you to join us Wednesday, April 18th for our general PTG
meeting starting at 6:00 pm. There will be a special presentation on Internet Safety for kids and
families. We encourage you to attend this informational meeting. The class with the highest parent
attendance will have a free dress day. Light refreshments will be served.

JOG-A-THON: Come out and cheer your child on as we raise money for our school and have fun all
at the same time. Jog-A-Thon will be held Friday, April 20th. We will start with preschool from 10:15-
10:30, K through 3rd will begin at 10:30-11:00 am and then 4th through 8th will begin at 11:00 - 11:45.
Free dress for the day is appropriate sports clothing and athletic shoes. To help make this fun day
happen we need volunteers!

APPLEBEE’S 7TH GRADE FUNDRAISER: Mark your calendar to join us Sunday, April 22nd at Applebee’s
located at 7677 Balboa Ave from 8:00 – 10:00 am. Come enjoy delicious pancakes, scrambled
eggs, bacon, juice & coffee. Breakfast will be served by our very own 7th grade students. Breakfast
may also be ordered for take-out. This 7th grade fundraiser helps to raise funds for the 8th grade
dinner/dance. So come out and show your support!

GOLF TOURNAMENT: Our St. Columba golf tournament is fast approaching….. Friday, May 18th at
Admiral Baker Golf Course. Don Eklund a parishioner, alumni parent and with the Men’s Club has
stepped up once again to organize this event, but we need a parent to also step up to help assist
with this event for our school. This is the last big fundraiser for our school, but it can’t happen without
your help. Please contact Ms. Navarro ASAP if you can help with this event.

“CATHOLIC SCHOOLS NIGHT” WITH THE SAN DIEGO PADRES: Looking ahead! Save the date Friday,
June 1st at 7:10 pm the San Diego Padres vs. Cincinnati Reds at Petco Park. More information will be
coming home soon!
