STEP 1: INSTALL THE BATTERIES AND ATTACH THE TETHER STEP 2: CHARGE THE CHS

− Only use NiMH batteries in the CHS. If alkaline or other types of
batteries are charged, damage may occur, and the battery status LED
may not function properly.

− Do not store the CHS for more than 30 days with the batteries
installed, or the battery may drain completely.

4. Install the batteries in the correct position, as indicated by the +/-


symbols. The end of the battery with the protruding tip is the

STEP 4: INSTALL SOCKETSCAN SOFTWARE STEP 5: TURN ON THE CHS

The scanner beeps to signal the Bluetooth connection status. You can
also configure it to indicate scanned data reaching the host device.

STEP 6: START BLUETOOTH ON YOUR COMPUTER Microsoft Bluetooth Stack:

8. A screen will state that the default setting is recommended. Click OK. It is essential to connect with Quick Connect because this sets the CHS
as your default Bluetooth serial device.
9. In the next screen, select another COM port. If desired, select Auto
Connect. Click Next. 2. After the device search, select Socket CHS [xxxxxx].
WARNING! Do not select a COM port that is used by another
device on your system! 3. If a passkey is requested, enter 1234 .

10. After the wizard reports that COM port selection is complete,
remember the COM port number and click Next.

STEP 8: START SOCKETSCAN


Double-click on the SocketScan icon on your desktop.

STEP 11: OPEN YOUR APPLICATION


1. Start the application that you want to enter scanned data into. Make
sure a document or spreadsheet is open.

2. Place the cursor where you want data to be entered.

STEP 12: SCAN DATA INTO YOUR APPLICATION
