ISM Mentor Biography

Name: Aaron Paz

Organization(s): NASA

Biography: Mr. Paz is currently an Aerospace Engineer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center
working in the Power and Propulsion Division. His experience includes zero-gravity testing,
lunar resource extraction, and In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) at sites in New Mexico
and Texas. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University,
and had completed multiple internships and Co-Op positions at NASA before receiving a
full-time position in his college years. Mr. Paz has also published and co-published
numerous studies and reports on his current work in ISRU.

In his free time, Mr. Paz enjoys bowling, fantasy football, snowboarding, and spending time
with his wife and four year old son.

Of the numerous engineers I interviewed, Mr. Paz is the most personable, dynamic, and well
informed individual as pertains to his career field. He is extremely knowledgeable of
engineering processes, is an excellent communicator, and he possesses a great amount of
experience in the field of aerospace. I am thankful Mr. Paz has agreed to serve as my mentor
and I look forward to the wonderful learning opportunities this mentorship will represent.
