It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of recommendation for the benefit of Julien Pierce Granberry. I have the
pleasure of teaching Julien in AP U.S. Government, his senior year at John Overton High School. He has multi-tasked his
rigorous schedule, work life and volunteer opportunities seamlessly. I can truly attest to his strength of character,
heightened motivation, accelerated academic ability, but most importantly, the kindness of his heart. When met with the
challenge of a collegiate level class he exceeded my expectations and has challenged himself until he has reached what
he knows he is capable of. Upon reading this correspondence, it will become conspicuously clear that Julien is a young
man of many talents. He is articulate, personable, and impassioned about being a positive force in his Overton High
School community. Moreover, Julien is destined for success, he has overcome personal difficulties & doesn’t let his
circumstances define what he is going to accomplish. It is with confidence, I report to you that Julien is an exceptional
candidate for your school.

Throughout his matriculation at John Overton High School, Julien has taken and excelled in numerous advanced
placement courses and honors classes. Due to Julien’s great problem solving, maturity and interpersonal skills, he has
earned the respect of his teachers and classmates alike. In class, Julien invigorates the atmosphere by adding to class
discussions. Julien will advocate for his learning by taking the time to learn from his mistakes in order to ensure
understanding.

Julien exudes an air of maturity and empathy towards others beyond his years. Julien is a positive force, not just in the
classroom or in his extracurricular clubs, but with all he encounters on the John Overton Campus. For these reasons,
Julien will be an asset to your program and I am excited to watch what he will accomplish in the coming years.
