used to write their names and make a triangle out of it, with their names facing towards
the teacher.

10mins consisting of 3-4 members. The teacher will hand over index card with a question written
on it: “Do you have any idea what nouns, pronouns, and verbs are? If so, can you write
what your understanding of these words are? What do they stand for? Can you give some
examples?” Before they will discuss with their groups, they will be working on the
question written on the index card individually.
 After being given a minute to compose their sentence, the students will group up,
discuss/share with their neighbors of what they think the definition of these words
are, choose the best description in which everyone will be agreeing to, and finally
one member of each group shares into the whole class what their group has
decided.

Developing the Lesson

35mins Discussion of Nouns, Pronouns, and Verbs

Now the teacher will be discussing first the Nouns, then Pronouns, and lastly Verbs. In
between these topics, the teacher will have a question panel in which students who are
having difficulty understanding the topic can ask for any clarification or questions
regarding the topic. After discussing the 3 first parts of speech, the student will be given a
worksheet to be done at home and to be passed on the next meeting.
 What is a noun? A noun is a word used to identify any of a class of people, places,

Closing the Lesson

10mins 3-2-1 – A closing activity to assess students on what they have learned (3 things), what
interests them (2 things), and what questions do they still have (1 question).
 In this closing activity, the teacher will give the students an activity sheet in which
the student will write their answers and submit before they leave the classroom.
This will allow the teacher to see whether the students learned or what interests
them the most and what questions do they still have after the lesson. This will also
determine whether the teacher should proceed on the next topic or whether to give
more time to the previous lesson.
