9 Faculty achievements: Faculties of department are well
qualified, all with PG and/or above. The department has
faculty with 3 PhD and 18 faculty of the department are
undergoing PhD programme. There is a considerable
increase in the publications by the faculty of the department
in peer reviewed international (25) and national (5)
journals, refereed international (57) and national (17)
conferences in addition to many papers in pipe-line.
9 Students’ achievements: Many students of the department
have participated in project exhibition competition, design
competition; student seminar competitions conducted at
leading and premier institutions and have won the prizes.
One group of students won PROJECT OF THE YEAR
AWARD from KSCST, Bangalore They took part in the
various cultural and sports activities held at the university
levels and have won the prizes. Students have undertaken
and completed successfully mini projects during vacation

9 Department laboratory development: The department has
set-up four new computer oriented laboratories worth about
Rs. 70Lakh. They are Computer Aided Engineering
Drawing (for first year students common to all branches),
Computer Aided Machine Drawing (for second year
students) and Advanced Computational Laboratory with
high end soft wares involving Computational Techniques,
FEA, CIM, Modeling and Simulation (for third and final
year of UG & all PG students).
9 Department other infrastructure development: The
department has a separate 2MbPS server of BSNL and a
browsing center with 18 terminals for the department
students. The facilities in the department library are
enhanced with inclusion of high rated reference books, e-
books, National journals, Internet and additional reading
space.

Departmental achievements:
Intake of the department at starting was 30 students. Shift course was added to our
department in the year 2012-13 with intake strength of 60 students total intake of department
is 30+60=90. Again in 2014 the 30 student’s intake is added to the department now the total
intake will be 30+90=120 students. In 2013-14 a new Post Graduation Course M.Tech in
Micro Electronics and Control Systems was added to our department with a intake strength
of 18 students.
A Guest lecture on “MSP 430, for Microcontroller Lab” by Dr. A.V. Nandi,
Professor, Dept of ECE, BVB CET Hubli, was arranged on 19th March 2012.

Department had organized “PARENTS MEET” on 02nd March 2013 in order to

have an interaction between the staff and parents.
“ALUMNI MEET” was organized by our department on 1st November 2013 & 28th
October 2014. Many of the alumni attended the meet despite of their busy schedule. They
gave fruitful suggestions to our present prefinal and final year students in building up their
career. The meet helped in gathering more information about our distinguished alumni and
thereby getting in contact with them constantly.
