The Reading Olympics are coming soon! We will kick off the
K-6 Reading Olympics with an Opening Ceremony on February 5".
The Elementary and Intermediate school libraries would like your
student to get involved and go for the GOLD, We will have different reading
events that they can complete to earna medal. Each student will be givena
Reading Olympic Event sheet to use to keep track of his or her reading. These
sheets should be kept at school so they do not get lost.
Here is how students participate:
1. Look over the Reading Olympic Event Sheet. (see back of sheet)
2. Select an event to complete and a book that meets the requirement for
the event. (Your school librarian can help you find the perfect book.) ONE
BOOK/EVENT!
3. Read the book, record the title and have it signed off by your
homeroom teacher, Mrs. Barnett, Mrs. Demro, or Mrs, Bottorff.
4. Once finished with an event, select another to complete!
What color medal will your student earn?
*Complete 5 events = BRONZE
*Complete 7 events = SILVER
*Complete all 9 events = GOLD
Our Reading Olympics will run the through the month of February,
ending February 23", Parents, please support your child by reading with
them, reading to them or asking them about their book and the Reading
Olympics. Let’s get ready to read, and most of all, HAVE FUN!
