Background of the study

Throughout 21st century, starting business with small capital especially for Senior
High School students is already possible. With a vast influence of social media, SHS
students can create a new opportunity that can reach people throughout the world. It
can be one of their starting point to build a good business that can help them in the
future. Starting an online business is quite easy compared to others. Unlike other
businesses, it does not have traditional hurdles that most new ventures face. They
provide limitless freedom. The only things that they should have are modern technology,
laptops, tablets and business applications which are some tools to be able for them to
operate their business in any location. Through that, they can have an access to a
worldwide market that can run 24/7 without boundaries. They can provide revenue even
when they are sleeping.

This research reports the findings of a thorough study to establish factors in


starting up an online shop reseller business that will lead to the benefits of Senior High
School Students in terms of earning money that can save time and effort. Most Senior
High School students are looking for an extra income that will help them to sustain their
needs in school. Sometimes, their allowances are not enough for them because of other
fees like projects. It is undeniably the common problem of Senior High School students
who do not have enough family income. There is lot of offers ahead for them but they
are having a hard time on how they will manage their time considering that there are lot
of paper works that they needed to comply. Finding an extra income is hard especially
when you are still studying. Therefore, the researchers come up with the idea of online
shop reseller business for Senior High School students who wanted to earn extra
money. From this business, they will earn money in just one click. Before entering in a
business there must be a plan for everything. It is not necessary to enter in an online
reseller business just because everyone does it. You must have an idea and knowledge
about it. Examine the pros and cons, know your limitations and familiarize yourself on
how it should run. Seek advice to those people who are successful in this field. It is also
an advantage to have some knowledge of the products and industry before starting as a
reseller.

Like, Jonah, a 17 year old competitive swimmer from Denver, Colorado who
wanted to start an online business, but he did not know how to code or have any

experience doing it. He worked part-time jobs but he never enjoyed working for other
people. He likes working for his own time and he is happy to put the effort he needs into
things, knowing there is a reason and reward for what he is doing. One day, he thought
that selling a product, online, is a very good option rather than working really hard to sell
in on other people’s store. Since, it was his first time in selling online products, he does
some research about it and seek advice to those people who are in line with this field.
So, he decided to choose the product line that he is interested with like watches. After
that, He launched his own store. Through the help of his online business, he manages
to earn money greater that what he expected, it really help him a lot in terms of his daily
living and study. It is undeniably the fact that online reseller business creates a lot of
opportunities for people who wanted to earn money especially for Senior High School
students.

Review of the Related Literature

Several studies have suggested that makes a significant role in this study. These
will strengthen the body of knowledge of the researchers and the readers as well.
These are the following studies that are related to our research:

understanding of the factors influencing things to consider before starting a business.

contribution to economic development. Additionally, the research aimed to facilitate the

In the study of The Important Factors to Consider in Starting a Business It is not


an ethics of individuals or of virtues, but an ethics which reflects on conflicts and on
potential and actual interactions (Blome-Drees, 2005, p. 354). In economic ethics,
conflicts are not ignored and morality is not limited to those cases where a convergence
of interests naturally occurs. It is exactly in those cases where goals do not immediately

Theoretical Framework

Starting up an online shop reseller business can be investigated or researched


from different theoretical backgrounds. Different perspectives that come from different
people like theory of business, scientific management theory and X&Y Theory. In this
research paper, the researchers come up with The Four Boxes Theory of Online
Marketing.

The Four Boxes Theory of Online Marketing has four pillars. The first pillar of
successful businesses is online marketing strategies. They might require more than one
professional figure to implement them all because of the technical skills required. The
second pillar is competitive advantages by having a strong difficult to replicate
competitive advantage will definitively bring your business to the next level. Make sure
to not confuse strengths with competitive advantages. They are different. The third pillar
is website effectiveness that ultimately engages a customer to a point that he or she will
buy from you. Optimizing a website is extremely important to maximize the return on
your marketing budget. The last pillar is data driven process, online marketing can be
improved only working on data. Data can help you save money and at the same time

This theory is very relevant to the research that seeks to analyze the different
factors in stating up an online business. It fits well with the purpose of the study, which
is to provide information to businessman or businessman and even in students
specifically with Senior High School Students who will enter in online marketing industry

in terms of online shop reseller business. It is clear that the theoretical framework and
the analysis of this study is completely related to each other. Four Boxes of Theory and
Factors in Starting up an Online Shop Reseller Business are both concerned with the
factors that an online business should consider in starting up.

Research Questions

In order to obtain the aim information of the researchers about the different
factors that a Senior High School Students should consider in starting up an online shop
reseller business. There are few questions that will give a significant role in this
research paper.

This research seeks to address the following questions:

1.) What are the different factors that a Senior High School student should consider
in starting up an online shop reseller business?
2.) What are the effects of these factors to Senior High School students?
3.) How will these factors be helpful for Senior High School students?

Significance of the Study

This section gives a significant role in this research that provides information
about the importance and benefits of this study to Senior High School Students. It will
give an exciting opportunity that will advance our knowledge regarding the different
factors in starting up an online shop reseller business specifically for Senior High School
students.

These are the different significance of this study for conducting this research:

 This online marketing strategy will be able to help them to attract potential
customers.
 It will serve as a basis for the things they should and should not do. It will help
them to decide first before entering in an online reseller business.

that this business will need.
 It also aims to contribute to this growing area of research through exploring the
different pros and cons that would affect the Senior High School students and the

Scope

In this modern world, shopping for items you need has been made easy and one
does not have to leave their homes to do it. All they have to do is just surf the internet
and take a look at the things they would like to order online. Many people have been
doing this specifically those that do not have time to do it. Among the many or the young
professionals, mothers and sometimes, even students who in that particular time need
those items immediately. The reasons for doing this are, they find it convenient and the
price is sometimes cheaper. Items are unique compare to other stores.

Limitations

Sometimes, the items delivered to you are defective and it is very hard to
change that particular item. It takes time to have that complains and someone must
settle it online that would require a couple of hours for trying to call the seller. You must
have a lot of patience. In some instances, the item looks very nice on the picture but
once it is brought to you, you will be disappointed because it seems different. There are
also items which are fake and the quality is poor.
