Dear Governor Scott, Ms. Stewart, and Ms.

Sweet

I have had no response in the one month since my February 16, 2017 letter (attached) rebutting virtually
all of the Department of Education’s Mary Jane Tappen’s “reasons” for not approving my 0.5 credit
Philosophy Honors Ethics semester course, an elective requiring but little paperwork and a course
number to approve; an elective (not a core required course) whose approval as another option on the
menu of school choices imposes virtually no difficulty whatsoever yet whose logic, reasoning and critical
thinking greatly benefits schools and students choosing it; an elective solving the problem and need of
linking a semester course of philosophy honors with the existing semester course of philosophy honors
(2120910) to complete a full year of philosophy honors rather than an unrelated semester course with
the semester philosophy honors (2120910) course. Virtually no other course solves this problem.

Looking forward to hearing from you in the very near future regarding this important request!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Ralph T. Cannizzaro
