Project Description;

Direct Memory Access is an I/O technique used for high-speed data transfer. In DMA, the
MPU releases the control of devices to DMA controller manages the data transfer between
memory and peripheral under its control. Intel 8257 is a four channel programmable DMA
controller. Each channel of programmable DMA Controller can transfer up to 16,384(16K)
bytes. The MPU provides with 16 bit starting address and 14 bit count and direction of data
to be transferred.

However using VHDL program of the chip, we can have add advanced features
without redesigning the entire chip. It can be used as a mega function in complex designs.
