Service Concept
We continually improve our service by working closely with clients to
offer practical solutions for various industrial applications. Now, with
the expansion of the LFD Group by founding LFD Automotive, we give
the industry a strong partner.

Customer Service
We believe in being close to customers, using open and direct
communication and maintaining a solid presence in the international
marketplace. Our highly motivated international team of professionals
ensures that your needs will be met to your full satisfaction.
Our large capacity warehouses and strong logistics partners
enable LFD to perform well for all kinds of storage and shipping
requirements. The result is a consistently high level of customer
satisfaction. An interesting and important difference between LFD and
our competitors is that we maintain a fully registered and licensed
company in China. While many other companies only purchase goods
for export, LFD can also deliver directly within the Chinese market.
This is especially beneficial to clients with their own manufacturing
plants in China. This is just one more advantage of working with LFD.

Bearing symbols
The complete bearing designation is composed of prefix symbols, base symbols and suffix symbols.
Prefix symbols generally indicate special configurations.
Rust-proof materials are indicated with the abbreviation for stainless steel for instance.
The base symbol relays information regarding the bearing series (first two digits) and the bore diameter (last
two digits). From code digit 04, the dimension of the bore diameter is five times the value of the bore diameter
code digit, for example 6208 indicates that the bore diameter is d = 40 mm.
Exceptions are indicated by a forward slash in front of the code digit.
Cage configurations, shields and seals , etc. are encoded in the suffix symbols.
The most important suffix symbols are listed in the following table:
Symbol Meaning
Z Metal shield
RS Contact seal
RZ Non-contact seal
N Snap ring groove in outer ring, without snap ring
NR Snap ring groove in outer ring, incl. snap ring
ZV Extended inner ring, special configuration
TNGH Glass-fiber reinforced plastic cage
M Brass cage
C2 Radial tolerance less than normal
C3 Radial tolerance bigger than normal
C4 Radial tolerance bigger than C3
P6 Precision class 6
PX (n) Special tolerances
L (n) Lubricating grease, e.g. L1 Shell Alvania No. 2
VZ Galvanized surfaces
–9–
The dimensions and tolerances are specified in the respective standards, e.g. DIN 620, DIN 625 or ISO 15.
They describe the shape and the running precisions.
The tolerance class P0 indicates the standard tolerance values; P6 or P5, etc. are higher precision classes
according to DIN 620.

In the advanced method according to ISO 281, the failure probability as well as the influences of material
and lubricant are also taken into account by means of the factors a1, a2 and a3.

b) Heat stabilized bearings usurally feature a lower hardness than standard bearings made of material GCr15
or 100 Cr6 so that an amendment must be made using the factor a2:
Heat stabilizing a2
max. temperature 200 °C 0.68
max. temperature 250 °C 0.30
c) The lubricant influence factor a3 is higher than 1 under ideal conditions, however, with lower speeds or in
case of contamination etc., a clear reduction in service life must be expected (a3<<1).

The static carrying safety S0 should be calculated by means of the following criteria:

Lubrication
Deep groove ball bearings sealed on both sides feature lifetime lubrication and are therefore maintenance-free.
In this connection it should also be noted that the grease life of the respective lubricant will reduce the
service life of the bearing in certain cases.
The standard greases used are lithium soap greases with a mineral oil base and a service temperature range
between -25° and +120°C.
It can be necessary, depending on the operating conditions, to use a special grease or even to reconvert to the
maintenance operation.
For the high temperatures which kiln truck bearings have to stand, paste-like lubricants such as molybdenum
disulphide for example, must be used as a total loss lubrication.
Additionally, the forming of a lubricating film is conditional on a minimum relative speed and can be
estimated using the empirical formula n*dm > 10.000.
The mean bearing diameter dm is determined from 0.5 * (d+D)
Heavy bearing loads require lubricants with EP-additives which possess optimum friction reducing properties.
