LoRa Technology New Features
● 20% extended connectivity range
● 170 dB maximum link budget with 50% power reduction in receive mode
(just 4.2 mA), hight sensitivity: down to -148 dBm. This allows to extend
battery life of Lora-based sensors up to 30%
● +22 dBm transmit power with highly efficient integrated power amplifiers
● 88 dB blocking immunity at 1 MHz offset
● Co-channel rejection of 19 dB in LoRa mode Built-in bit synchronizer for
clock recovery and Automatic Channel Activity detection (CAD) with ultra-
fast Automatic Frequency Control (AFC)
● Simplified user interface and shortened the development cycle
● Smaller footprint, 45% reduction of size
● Global continuous frequency cover: 150-960 MHz
● New spreading factor SF5 to support dense networks
● Protocol compatible with legacy protocol (FSK modem), and existing
deployed LoRaWAN networks (LoRa modem).
New Family of LoRa Chipsets

Our research: current status

An recent article on “Back Down to Earth - Semtech and Lacuna Receiving
Messages from Space”, Rob Spurrett - CEO / Co-Founder of Lacuna Space,
15 February 2018, URL: http://blog.semtech.com/back-down-to-earth
“We will be using a constellation of polar orbiting low-earth orbiting satellites to
receive messages from sensors integrated with LoRa Technology on the ground. At
about 500km above the ground, the satellites circle over the poles of the earth
every 100 minutes and as the earth revolves below them, they cover the whole
globe.”
