usually used when devices are
down for:
• Maintenance on the radios
• Loopback controls
• 1+1 protections switch controls

RF LINKING

• A Radio Frequency (RF) link is added between radios, in


ProVision, to show that the radios are carrying
communications traffic.
You can only create an RF link between Aviat radios of the
same type.
The radios must be deployed in ProVision.
You are able to see the complete link, viewing both ends.
In the Map Viewer or submap, the highest severity event
from either radio is reflected in the color of the link.

CREATING AN RF LINK FROM THE TREE VIEWER

To link two Eclipse or TRuepoint radios:


1. Select one end of the radio hop
2. use Create Link from the right click menu to
Discover RF Link (if the link is not
automatically discovered)
3. ProVision will collect RF coordination data
from the radio and create a new RF link

Both ends of the radio hop must be deployed.


If the coordinating end is not deployed, ProVision will
display a pop-up message.

To link two WTM6000 radios:


1. The WTM6000 can be linked by selecting the Path Groups of the two (2) WTM6000 radios,
open the right click menu
2. use Create Link from the right click menu then RF Link
3. ProVision will collect RF coordination data from the radio and create a new RF link

Both ends of the radio hop must be deployed on ProVision

• A submap can be opened for:

Device State Icon Other Indications


Unmanaged - Event severity is blue. The pop-up text displays State: Unmanaged.
Managed - Event severity can be any of the colors - green, cyan, yellow, orange,
or red. The pop-up text displays State: Managed.
Connecting ProVision is attempting to connect to the device across the network
using the device’s IP address. There has been no communication from
the device since being managed. The pop-up text displays State:
Connecting.
Asleep The radio is asleep. The pop-up text displays State: Asleep.
Errored The managed radio is not responding to polling from ProVision. The
pop-up text displays State: Errored.

Performance thresholds feature allows you to associate an alarm or

If a “+” icon appears in the bottom left corner of a task icon, this
indicates that more than one radio task and/or device state is
“+” icon
associated with that radio. The pop-up text displays the additional
tasks/states.

ABOUT CIRCUITS AND CIRCUIT TRACING

• A circuit is a single tributary path that travels through a


sequence of radios.
• For Eclipse radios, circuits are initiated and terminated on
a DAC (INU/INUe), or, for an IDU, within its ethernet/data
module.
• A circuit group is a collection of tributary paths that travel
through the same sequence of radios from the same start
point to the same end point.

• There are three steps to loading and managing Circuits:


 Setup the Circuit Collection Preferences
 Run the Circuit Trace

• ProVision periodically captures the cross-connect


configurations from the radios.
• Circuit configuration changes to the radios will not be
recognized until a new Circuit Trace is completed.
• Circuit tracing:
 Locates incorrect circuit cross-connections within the network
 Views and manages changes to the network circuit configuration (such as
adding circuit capacity during network rollout).
 Views the circuits to use the troubleshooting features of ProVision, such as
loopback and PRBS testing.

 Detects whether configuration has changed by reading the last change time
from the devices
 If change is detected, FTPs the configuration file to the backup location on
the ProVision server
 Returns the last 5 copies of the configuration files onto the server
 Saves this backup and uses it (for Eclipse, with Portal) to load onto new
installations.
