Since 2011, over 450 U.S. teachers from 49 states and the District of Columbia have
participated in the Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) Program. Each cohort of TGC
fellows reach more than 10,000 students in their home communities and nearly 90% of
alumni report that their classroom has more opportunities for global learning as a result of
the program. As such, Teacher for Global Classrooms participants in Morocco have
conducted a number of research projects focused on educational issues, trends and
practices within various segments of the educational systems in Morocco and the United
States.
The quality of research, however, depends on the quality of the information used to
develop its questions and content. Relevant information is particularly important for
research conducted internationally with potential for impact in classrooms and
communities around the world. In addition to TGC teachers’ first-hand experience in
schools across Morocco, information can be complimented by collaborative discussion
with stakeholders in the system being researched. As such, Global Research Panel
(GRP) is a convening designed to engage leaders and practitioners in global education
who are seeking innovative methods, opportunities for collaboration, and inspiration in
relation to the global education movement. In this instance, TGC teachers will explore
their questions through interaction and dialogue with practitioners and researchers, to
further synthesize their understanding of the Moroccan education system, and continue
the rich relationship and mutual understanding between Morocco and the United States.
This panel takes place on March 26, 2018 from 9.00 AM TO 12.00 PM at the Mohamed V
University in Rabat.
