What?

L
TGTR, as we like to call it, is an undertaking by a group of energetic, jobless people. It is a
fortnightly magazine, dedicated to providing a public forum for people to showcase their
fiction, artwork, or any other form of creative expression. In addition, we pride ourselves on
being a reliable and consistent source of unbiased content.
In addition to providing news and literary content, we also plan to expand our range of activities
towards a more social inclination by focusing on various issues that plague society, by forming
relations with NGOs and like-minded organizations that strive for the betterment of our society, and
eventually by organizing campaigns for improving literacy, health and basic awareness. We plan to
inject fresh media like photojournalism and a blend of online and written content into our newsletter,
keeping up a consistent reputation for high standards throughout.

Why?
Because we want to. Because we feel that everybody should have the right to speak out, and
be heard. And in this cause, we want to provide a medium that can give them that freedom of
expression, and an audience that will be both receptive and critical.
If this sounds too high-winded, or unreal (“an audience that will be both receptive and critical.” we
know,) believe us, eventually, this will be the case. We’re hopelessly optimistic, at most times, but
have realists among us who are not afraid to point out exactly what is wrong with our plans.
Because we want to make a lot of difference
Finally, because we’re ambitious. We believe in acquiring a skill-set that will stay with us as
experience for the rest of our lives. And working under deadlines, amidst diverse requirements,
is what helps us garner them. The struggle to not compromise on quality even under pressure can
sometimes bring out the best in a person. Trust us, we know.
We create the necessity, and invention will follow. (Clichéd? You tell us.)

here is living proof ( proofs? )
that athletes from two different

One way to marginalise this adverse effect

on Indo- Pak relations is for civil societies to
build alliances that are not restricted by the
logic of the nation state, like the Qureshi-
Bopanna bonding. Once such alliances gain
momentum, even states could be brought to
realise the transformational potential that is
present in collaboration.
Both Qureshi and Bopanna claim that they
had no political motives to play as a team. In
their opinion, they were brought together by
sheer love of tennis. Perhaps that is true. But
that one simple act of theirs has proven that
we can set aside our political differences for a
greater cause. Who knows? Perhaps someday,
Qureshi and Bopanna might be remembered
as the tennis players who brought two
countries together. The flag bearers of peace!
That remains to be seen. But I hope that in the
future, more sportsmen will stand together
with flags of both India and Pakistan printed
on their caps, ready to truly play as a team….

It’s time to bridge the gap.

Q1. What is your Company all about? What does it do? How many people are involved in
it? Who are the founding members?
Ans. Our company creates panoramic virtual tours for location centric businesses.. Using our
own patented technology we are able to create beautiful panoramic virtual tours that are able
to communicate the actual look and feel of the location to the customers in the most elegant
manner. We are currently a 5 people strong company. I and Vineet Devaiah are the founding
partners You can find out more about our company through our website www.bits360.com
Q2. What made you start this company? What first gave this idea?
Ans. We enjoyed making panoramas for fun. BITS360 was a gift to my college because he felt
he that no one really appreciated the beautiful campus next to the beaches of Goa. Then we
saw market potential as we grew with time and now it’s there for everyone to see, BITS 360.
Q3. How difficult was it to start-up? Did you receive a lot of set-backs? How did you deal
with them?
Ans. We had some starting difficulty as Vineet was based in the US and I was in the final year
of my engineering, so coordination was an issue. I always wanted to start a company that
was technology focused so it was always on my mind. After we got our couple of first clients
and I met Vineet personally for the first time after working together for 18 months, when he
came down to India for vacation. It was very clear at that time; this was the best thing that
we could do. Vineet quit his job in the US; we recruited our first employee and started our
development office a week after I graduated from BITS-Goa. We were making profits from
day one and are still cash positive so it was less of a financial burden on us. Some of our major
setbacks were to bring a certain amount of work culture in our company, we had never had
experience in client facing products nor had any contacts in the business we were selling into.
We started off with tapping both the BITS and NITK alumni for for first 2-3 clients and then it
was pretty easy.
Q4. How did people close to you react when you told them you were going to start a company
of your own? How did you feel?
Ans. My parents were very supportive and though it was a huge step for me I felt very confident
in what I was doing. My friends were excited for me because we had always discussed how I
wanted to get into entrepreneurship. Vineet had already started and sold a company so his
parents were much more calm about the situation, though he complains they keep asking if
we are “ok” . I think overall it was a good feeling all around, I think the complaints and issues
will start being raised after a year or two if things start going downhill.
Q5. What were the sources of finance you could leverage?
Ans. Vineet and I put in the initial money which we haven’t touched so far because the money
from our deals are supporting us financially right now.
Q8. How would you describe the experience so far…. Has it been fun or only work?
Ans. Vineet is intense and he maintains a high level of work ethic in the company. It helps a
lot because as we are just fresh graduates and we need to get better. We have fun sometimes
but most of the time its work. On an average we work close to 16 hours a day. We never feel
like this is a lot of work because we are passionate about what we are building. I am sure once
our company is more successful we will have time to have fun.
Q9. Where do you see yourself after 5 years? What are your plans for the future?
Ans. I think we see ourselves as a successful technology company doing meaningful work in
our domain..
Q10. How do you now see entrepreneurship? Some tips for upcoming entrepreneurs.
Ans. The only tip I could possibly give is to stop dreaming and start doing. Entrepreneurship is
not a game, it’s not something fancy and unlike your competitive examinations you have no
ranks – you either pass or fail. I personally find it fun because of the work am doing and I can
imagine how difficult it would be if I was not passionate about the work am doing.
Q11. What do you look for in your employees and interns that you take? Is it knowledge or
creativity or sincerity etc.?
Ans. We value sincerity a lot. A person who’s sincere can learn more things while working.
He/She should be excited about the work and have enthu. We also look for people who are
smarter than us, no use taking someone who is dumber than you.
Q12. How was your college life? What are your favorite memories? What lesson do you
think people should take from college?
Ans. It was interesting to say the least and also very different from expectations. What I learnt
most and what I’d like to share with all the readers is that you should never stop working even
if you are tired and never stick to just the curriculum. Always pick up something or the other,
randomly, and learn about it. Don’t close your minds.

Id no: 2008A7PS127H
Hometown: Nainital
Zodiac: Aquarius
Movies: Only English non- romantic.
Music: Rap, pop ,soft rock.
Hobbies: I do random things so I’ve no specific
hobby.
Concept Of Masti: Here in BPHC…the best way is to
bunk classes and go out with friends.
School -> College: At school I was this silent kid
who never made much frnds…and now…yeah now
I’m still that.
Subject and Teacher: My fav. subj is English
literature. And dad was the best teacher.
What do you like about BPHC: Absolutely nothing!
Only thing I like is my hostel life with my few frnds.
Embarrassing Moments: It was when I was in 10th. I had just watched scary movie 3 and while
returning from a day out with family, I was imitating a scene by spilling water from my mouth on the
passer-bys from inside the moving car. On the next red light a motorcycle stopped and 3 men came
towards me angrily…I froze. They let me go because my parents knew one of them. My whole family
was looking at me with a wry smile and that is the most embarrassing moment of my life.
Memorable Experiences: Maths section @ JEE 2008 is most memorable.
First Crush: That was in LKG. She was my best friends’ sister…so he even let me sit with her (of
course he didn’t know that she was my crush) and I never let her study so she failed. Dunno where
she is now.
Fav Sports: Basketball. Kobe Bryant.
Message To world(BPHC): Never regret the past & never worry about future…always live in the
present because present builds your future and also becomes your past.(wow…That was heavy…)
When Sad: Go out to party. It works!
Books: I relish Jeffrey Archer’s Novels.
Cuisine: KFC’s bucket wid sweetened coke has no match.
Fashion: I wear whatever I grab first frm my cupboard.
Who Would you like to See in a swimsuit: swimsuit!!! Hey if the fantasies of people @ BPHC were
so limited we would never have had fortiguard.
Idea of a perfect date: A romantic (yakkk!) movie…followed by a candlelight dinner and then a
long drive. And uh-ohh… just as we reach her house…my car breaks down ;)
Id No: 2010B1PS614H
Hometown: Jodhpur
Movies: Teen movies. A Walk To Remember.
Robert Pattinson, Ranbir Kapoor, Amrita Rao,
Preity Zinta
Music: Soft music
Books: Used read frequently till 10th then life
got busy with studies in the last two years. Like
Charles Dickens
Life @ BPHC: I thought I’d have to study less
in college, but here there are so many tests
and exams. I’m still getting acquainted with
everything. Hostel life is great. We stay up till
late, gossip, watch movies etc.
Hobbies: Reading, watching movies, nothing
very specific.
Changes @ BPHC: I think the seniors are great and they are trying very hard to improve
everything, and they mentioned lots of things in their manifestos also. Hostel definitely needs
to improve. We have no internet, no QT plus we have to walk a lot.
Cuisine: Sizzlers, Indian sweets, Dal Baati Churma. After coming to college I have specially
started missing “Mummy ke haath ka khaana”
Memorable Moments: In 11th and 12th, I had a big group. We had a lot of fun together. All
that time is very memorable.
Embarrassing Moments: Nothing in particular. Dost to udate hi rehte hain.
Idols: Kalpana Chawla, APJ Abdul Kalam, My mother
School -> Colg: It’s the first time I’m staying all alone. This is the longest time I’ve spent
without my parents. But college life is college life.
Elections: Elections were a new experience for me. But sometimes it got very boring listening
to all the people come and talk about their manifestos. Once we had to listen to people
coming one after the other for two hours.
One thing you really want to do: Be a part of a band
Future Plans: I want to be someone my parents can be proud of.
Message to BPHC: We are among the best in India, among the best in the world and we
should live up that faith.
Id No: 2009H123008H
Zodiac: Virgo
Music: Opeth, AR Rahman, Lata Mangeshkar,
Movies: Not much into movies, don’t like clichéd
movies, prefer movies with sensible storylines. Fav
are Andaaz Apna Apna, Shawshank Redemption.
Life @ BPHC: It’s Very good. When I joined,
initially I didn’t know we were the first batch so
I was a little apprehensive. But the BITS tag was
there. In terms of facilities we weren’t expecting
too much. Campus life is quite tension free but
also a little away from reality. We’ve all enjoyed
the activities and the fests.
Acads @ ME level: They are much more focused
as compared to undergrad. Also at this level you understand what aspects of other subjects
you study, because in undergrad you only browse through everything
Undergrad: Not very good, okayish.
Why M.E.?: It’s a personal interest. I think if any of you gets really fascinated with the things
you see here then you should go for M.E. You can always do MBA after this also
Hobbies: Stargazing(no, he actually likes stargazing), gaming. Half-Life(1 and 2) and GTA Vice
City are all time favorites
Sports: Cricket, Carrom
Fav teacher: Chem Prof. Adil Gyarah in Jr. College
Cuisine: Vegetarian, Punjabi, Maharashtrian, Gujrati (Finally somebody who likes Indian!!!!)
First Crush: 2nd Standard (not a teacher), then next in 11th standard.
Changes @ BPHC: More transportation to the city (Is anybody listening)
Idols: None, generally I idolize anybody who does something good
Message to BPHC: Enjoy these years coz u won’t ever get them back. You should have fun but
also take an interest in technical activities. There is a lot of scope and some of the professors
are very good, though you might not agree (he wouldn’t name anyone publicly, go ask him in
person)
Memorable Moments: 1. Getting selected by NVIDIA, obviously.
2. This was in Mumbai. There were 3 of us and we wanted to give a treat. So we called a friend
from Grant Road to Xavier’s college. We were trying to do decide the restaurant. We walked
into various restaurants, but always one of us would have a problem. In the end, after walking
about 2-3 km we ended up eating in a restaurant in Grant Road opp. my friend’s house. Best
of all we ended up paying for our own meals.
Embarrassing: It was in 3rd standard, I attended a workshop on arts & crafts. Everybody
was called on stage and there were 300-400 people in the audience. It was the first time I had
gotten up on stage and I totally blanked out. I became really nervous and just pointed at my
painting and said something like “This is mask, this is painting”. I somehow managed a thank
you and then again said “this is painting, this is mask”.
Who would like to see in a swimsuit: No one in particular
The Big One….About Placements: I am feeling very good about it but it was much
unexpected.
Initially we weren’t even sure if we could sit in the written examination. We were informed at
the last minute that we could. At that time, we are all feeling very frustrated because CISCO
had just rejected everybody. There was just some communication gap and it was sorted out.
34 people wrote the written examination, 6 qualified from that and finally NVIDIA selected
2 from those.
I was asked three questions in the interview – Where are you from? Where did you do your
engineering? If you are from BITS-Hyderabad, why are you attending placements in BITS-
Goa?
Tips for placements: If the job profile is technical then only technical things matter but if job
is more management oriented then HR interview is more important. Appear decent in the
interview. Don’t boast, don’t praise the company too much and don’t go overboard with your
answers. Don’t take a negative attitude in the interview.
Things You Really Want to Do: Going to space like silver surfer and explore the universe
Final Words: Walk straight in life irrespective of space-time curvature

4. An education
5. Star Wars – Empire strikes

ear mom, dear dad, I don’t know why am I so sad,
Maybe god has taken you away from me that’s why I feel so bad,
No where to go, no place to stay, I landed up in this orphanage,
My survival is on the belief that I’m still in god’s patronage,
No company to comprehend, not even one friend,
Parents coming and adopting them along every bend,
Walking the lonely corridors, no one was there to care,
F***ing around the whole day, returning to the room so bare,
Eating the crappy food, getting to know my hood,
Survival was so tough, wondered if I really could,
Life was far from fun, I think I’m almost done...
But sadly in the end, I remain an orphan.

D ear mom, dear dad, I don’t know why am I so sad,

Maybe I went out for a walk outside that’s why I feel so bad,
Glad to be out once more, I started observing you see,
But what I saw that day, was difficult to digest for me,
A strong emotion in me, I started looking for love,
The feeling had vaporized from the world it seemed, just wondered how,
Homeless running around looking for shelter,
Running helter skelter...your heart’s gonna melta...
Thought it was only the orphanage, but even outside no one seemed to care,
Hard to find someone who had something he wished to share,
Poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer,
The irony was so strong I wish I could show you a picture,
Peace, a strong belief, now a mere myth, seemed a distant dream,
The world was in chaos and terror, you could hear people scream,
No warmth in anyone’s eyes and heart, no feeling fraternal,
Hate was fast becoming a fervour which looked eternal,
Cruelty, sarcasm, cheating and hypocrisy,
All filthy elements of an already f***ed democracy,
As night came to fall, I thought I had seen it all,
Something suddenly exploded inside me making me stop mid street,
I screamed in pain and anguish forgetting to be discrete,
Who’s the f***ing orphan huh? Who’s the real orphan??
I just lost my parents man, I can’t believe what I am seein,
I still have all my feelings and emotions intact, I remain a human being,
You people are all f***ed up man, you ain’t got shit,
Turning into ravaging animals slowly bit by bit,
Who’s the f***ing orphan huh? Who’s the real orphan??
Dear mom, dear dad, i know why I m so glad,
Shame on these fucking people, so I made my final call...
These people who have everything yet have nothing,
Or me who has nothing yet hath all..
