Background

We feel really happy to present the twentieth issue of The Excelsior School Newsletter to you. Through this
Newsletter we try to give a glimpse of activities that we have been carrying out in the school for the holistic
development of every individual here. The school has been enhancing educational quality through various
internal and external activities and programmes. This Newsletter is a miniature mirror for any readers to have
an overview of our instructional methods and students’ involvements in learning process. We can happily
share with you that our methods have been successful as we have been constantly awarded with Excellence
Awards time and again.

Inters Sports Fest (30 November-4 December 2017)


All the students from grade six and seven enjoyed their sports fest from 30 November to 4 December 2017.
More than 200 students from all the six sections of both the grades participated in the event enthusiastically.
After being coached throughout the year by their coaches in various sporting events, the students excitedly
awaited this day. Among all the students each student could take part in maximum three events. After
enrolling themselves in various events, there were 16 futsal teams of boys and 8 futsal teams of girls who
competed in league com knockout system.
Likewise, in basketball there were 8 teams of boys and 14 teams of girls. They also participated in league com
knock out system. All the matches in the group stage were played in league system and from quarter finals the
games headed to knockout system.
Similarly, 70 boys and 64 girls enrolled in badminton competition. In the same fashion 64 boys and 8 girls
enrolled in chess tournament. Following the line, 32 boys and 3 girls competed in table tennis. In carom board
there were 70 boys and 66 girls. The events went on for four days. The final matches of the tournament which
were played on 4 December were witnessed by all the students in inters level.
It was not only fun but also an opportunity for the young student to prove that they are physically growing
robust. In four day tournament, the following students got the certificate of excellence by securing the top
positions.

Seniors Nepali Speech Competition (5 December 2017)


Inters Nepali Speech Competition was held in the Drama Hall on 5 December 2017. The 16 selected students,
representing their respective houses participated in the competition. Giving an inspiration speech amidst the
students and teachers assembled
in the Drama Hall, Pratishtha Pandey (9C) of the Green House claimed the first prize of the competition.
Speaking on the topic “...............................................,.
Her cadence, pace and word selection mesmerized all the audiences in the hall.

Giving another powerful speech in the contest, Yogesh Subedi (9C) of the Yellow House grabbed the second
prize with a tie with Pratistha Kunwar (8C) of the Yellow House who also claimed the second position. The
third prize also went to Subigya Paudel (9C) of the Yellow House who was also neck-to-neck with his winning
rivals.

Grade One Celebrate Sports (14 December 2017)


A grand sporting event for grade one was organized at the school playground letting the students cherish the
moment along with their friends. All the students from grade one assembled on the play ground and began the
happy day with national anthem. Then they participated in games like running, jumping, catching and throwing.
Grade one parents were also invited to enjoy the programme. After the competition, the winners were
awarded with certificates by Vice Principal Mr. Prashant Rajak. Among the students, the following students got
the certificate of excellence in various events.
Participation in RBS MUN (15 -17 December 2017)
Twelve Excelsiorians from grade eight and nine participated in the Rato Bangla School Model United Nations
programme which draws participation of both domestic and foreign students studying in high school. The
Excelsior School team participated in six different committees with at least two participants in each. In the
three-day programme held from 15 December to 17 December 2017, our students came home with flying
colours.
Special Political and Decolonization Committee set for the programme dwelt on ‘Re-evaluating the role of
peacekeeping forces’ and ‘Resolving the Ukrainian Conflict’. TES students Siddhartha Moktan (9B) and Tashi
Dolma Gurung (9A) actively participated in the committee as delegates of Libya and the Philippines putting
forth their views.
Likewise, Aagaman Kandel (9B) (delegate of Iraq) and Subigya Paudel (9C)(delegate of Palestine) were in the
Disarmament and International Security Committee, The committee had an extensive discussion on ‘Tackling
the threat of weapons of mass destruction’ and ‘Fighting Islamic extremists’. At the end of the discussion,
Subgay Paudel was awarded with Verbal Mention award. Mr. Paudel also received the Letter of Commendation
from the organizers for his outstanding performance.
Similarly Yogesh Subedi (9C) (delegate of Norway) and Dipta Prakash Basnet (9B) (delegate of Bhutan)
participated in Economic and Financial Council. The Committee discussed on ‘Promotion of sustained
economic growth in least developed countries and landlocked developing countries’ and ‘International efforts
on combating money laundering’. At the end of the session, Mr. Basnet was declared as the Best delegate of
the committee.
In the same manner, Koshish Narayan Shretha (9B), Samsal Lama (9B) and Siddhanta Paudel (9A) participated
in Byabastapika Samsad, a simulation of the Parliament of Nepal. In the programme Mr Shrestha represented
Jhalanath Khanal, Ms Lama represented Surya Bahadur KC and Mr Paudel represented Narabahadur Pun. The
session intensely discussed on नेपाली जनताको धे रै लामो सं घर्ष पछि सम्भव भएको सं छघय लोकतान्त्रिक णतिात्मक
शासन व्यवस्थालाई दीगो शान्त्रि, सु शासन, छवकास र सम्बृ न्त्रिको पथमा लग्न सछि मागष छनदे शन । and पयाष प्त छशक्षा, ऐन र
अनुगमनको बावजुद छवछभन्न सरकारी तथा छनछज कायाष लयिरुमा व्याप्त भ्रस्टाचारलाई जरै दे न्त्रि छनवारण गरर पारदशी
नेपालको छनमाष ण । At the end of the session, Mr Shrestha and Ms Lama were awarded with Verbal Mention
awards while Mr Paudel was declared as Outstanding Delegate of the committee.
Meanwhile, Rojish Khadka (8A) and Shrawan Shrestha (8B) participated in High Level Political Forum on
Sustainable Development as a delegate of Brazil and Yemen respectively. The committee focused its discussion
on ‘Building sustainable cities’ and ‘Climate action’. Recognizing wonderful performance of Ms Khadka the
committee awarded her with a Verbal Mention award.
Participation in RBS MUN has been a regular programme of our school and it has prepared the students for
another steps. As we also hold MUN session annual, the participation works as an external exposure to our
students. It is really great opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills and oratory.

Second Terminal Report Card Distribution (16 Dec 2017)


The result of the second term examination for this academic year was published on 16 December 2017. On
the same day progress report cards of the students were distributed. Meantime, parents came to school along
with their children and received the report cards. The teachers and the parents also held meaningful
discussions about the academic achievement and ways to improve overall performance of the students.

Sixth Excelsior Cup Held (19 -28 December 2017)


Keeping up the tradition of hosting mega sporting event at the school premises, The Excelsior School hosted
Sixth Excelsior Cup 2074 from 19 December to 28 December 2017. The tournament began with a special
inaugural ceremony chaired by School Managing Director Ram Basnet.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest and ANFA Chair, Narendra Shrestha expressed his happiness saying
the school has been doing a lot for developing sportsmanship among young athletes. He emphasized on giving
high priority to the games in the school as sports can be instrumental to keep them healthy and fit.

Speaking on the occasion, School Managing Director and Chairman of the programme, Ram Basnet said the
school has been doing its best to bring up new players and give them a platform to develop their talent.

In the 10 day long mega sporting events, 16 teams from various schools competed in Junior boys basketball
category. Likewise there were 12 senior boys’ teams and 12 girls’ basketball teams competing in the
tournament. To add more flavour to the event, 12 teams for staff also participated in their category.

In the futsal, 14 teams of junior boys and 20 teams of senior boys competed in their respective categories.

In Staff basketball category, The Excelsior team clinched the title while Senior boys category of futsal
tournament, The Excelsior team became runner up.

Besides, this year, there was also 3 point shooting challenge for any pro or armature basketball players.

After the completion of the event, special closing ceremony was also held at the school premises.
Parliamentarian and former National Sports Council member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha, who was also the
chief guest of the closing ceremony, gave away the prizes and shields to the winning teams.

Night Guided Tour at Central Zoo (22 December 2017)


To study the behaviours of nocturnal animals, grade eight students visited the Central Zoo on 22 December
2017. Teachers along with the Instructional Supervisors led the students for the night guided tour there. The
caretakers at the zoo, explained about the animals to the students. They were really excited to see real
animals like porcupines, wild cats, owls and tigers actively moving at night. As a part of environmental and
scientific study of animals, the grade eight students of The Excelsior School go on a visit every year.

Christmas Celebration for Pre-School (24 December 2017)


A special programme was organised here at the school premises to celebrate Christmas involving all the
students from preschool. On the Christmas Eve, the students were called in red dress and Dance Teacher Mr.
Surendra Desar acting like Santa Claus or Father Christmas gifted the children sweets. Then the children
danced and played along with music. The teacher also sang Christmas Carol to the children. Such celebration
help children understand the cultural festival and make them socially strong as they can build up tolerance and
familiarity with others’ values.

Hostel Night Observed (2 January 2018)


It was on 2 January 2018, the students at the Excelsior Hostel elatedly twirled on the stage made at back yard
of the school and reverberated the school premises with the resonant music and songs to mark the hostel
night 2018. The students at hostel participated in various cultural programs and entertained the audience who
had dropped in the school in the evening at about 5 O’clock. Meantime, Managing Director of the school, Mr.
Ram Basnet gifted the extraordinary performers with some rewards and presents which enriched the smile on
the students’ face.

Balaju Industrial State Visit for Grade 7 (29 December 2017)


All the students from grade seven were taken to the Balaju Industrial State to make them familiar about
different types of industries and production procedures. The teams of students led by their teachers including
Instructional Supervisor of Social Studies Department Govinda Gautam had opportunities to observe the
Kathmandu Dugda Bitaran Ayojana (Kathmandu Milk Distribution Project) run under Dairy Development
Corporation. Meanwhile, the students talked about problem surfaced in the industrial sites with the people
available. After the visit, the students were asked to prepare a report based on their findings. Adaptation of
such learning process has enabled the students with scientific and practical learning skills of observation,
research and analysis. Seizing the moment, department Supervisor Govinda Gautam also reminded the
students about the mutual relation between the agricultural activities and industrial activities.

Nine to Narayanhiti (31 December 2017)


Students from all sections of grade nine were taken to the Narayanhiti Palace Museum as a part of their social
study curriculum on 31 December 2017. After Narayanhiti Palace being turned into a museum following the
abolishment of monarchy, it has been a great venue for students and researchers to study about the history of
the country. During the visit, the students observed the various courts, court yards and rooms used by the
royal families. The students noted the display of gifts received by royal family members, their beds and
furniture and personal belongings with much interest. Besides, they also observed the various sections of
palaces used in various historical events like the palace where royal massacre of 2058 BS, the room where the
constitution of 2047 BS was issued. On top of this, they students observed the various official sections of the
palace from where the king as the head of the state conducted various works.
The place premises are also important from the point of view of observing plants and birds. In the garden,
hundreds of varieties of flowers and plants across the world can be found. The accompanying teachers
including subject teacher Mr. Bipin Koirala and Social Studies Instructional Supervisor Mr. Govinda Gautam
quenched the queries of the students during the visit.

English Story Writing Competition (28 January 2018)


All the students from grade four to nine sat for the English Story Writing Competition on 28 January 2018.
Writing story was compulsory for all the students. The students, after being taught about the process of
writing a story, were asked to write their own story creatively following clues or topics or situation given to
them. In the competition, Aashutosh Laudari (5C) representing Green House can first. Likewise, Grishman
Thapa (5B) representing Yellow House came second and Tejaswi Pant (4A) can third in the Juniors category
comprising the students from grade four and five.
Similarly, in the Inters category Anusha Dhakal (7A) representing Blue House can first with her appealing story.
Two persons were selected for the second position. Kabish Pokhrel (7A) of the Red House and Rehana
Shrestha (6A) of Blue House were awarded with the second prize and Diya Khadka (6B) of the Yellow House
stood third in the competition.
Likewise, in the Seniors category Koshis Narayan Shrestha (9C) of the Red House claimed the title with his
wonderful story leaving Tsering Yanzing Gurugn (9A) from the Yellow House and Diya Chaudhary (8C) from
the Blue House in the second and the third positions.
Later, the stories were displayed on the monthly wall magazine Cascade.

Grade 4 Excursion to Bhaktapur (29 January 2018)

All the students of grade 4 were taken to Bhaktapur on an excursion with an objective of
observing ancient of artefacts in the city of devotees. Besides, the educational tour was
organized to make the young students familiar about the cultural aspects of Newari life styles.
During their tour, the students observed the wood carvings of ancient temples, the gorgeous
statues, pottery yards and many other famous historical palaces. The students also held talks
about economic, social and cultural aspects of Newars living in the city for a long period of time.

Meantime, the students were divided in eight groups with respective leading teachers. Each
group were led to eight different locations and afterwards they were made to share about their
experience among their friend. Following the traditions, 24 parents were also invited to
accompany the teachers and the students during the visit.

During the visit organized as a part of the social study curriculum for grade, Social Studies
Department Instructional Supervisor Govinda Gautam along with the teachers Binaya Kumar
Tamang, Bhuwankala Dhakal, Irfan Uddin, Rajkumar Sanjel, Hari Kumari Thapa and Nissan
Dahal facilitated the students.

Visiting Friend’s Home (31 January-2 February 2018)


Grade one students visited their friend’s home with an objective of exploring more about the family. The
students from different sections were grouped in different teams and led to one of the friends’ home by their
teachers on 31 January Section B, 1 February Section C and 2 February Section A. During their visit, the young
students interviewed the family members and noted down different parts of the house. Meantime, the parents
who welcomed the young learners kindly responded to them answering their questions. The parents also told
them about the simple aspects of culture of the family, the traditional clothes they wear and the food they eat.
At the same time the kids were served with delicacies. They not only enjoyed the visit but also got chance to
have real learning about their friend’s family and culture.

Seniors Sports Fest (31 January-2 February 2018)


The third terminal period in The Excelsior School remained sporty this year as well. After the successful
completion of The Excelsior Cup in December itself, sporting activities for senior students from grade 8 and 9
began on 31 January 2018 and continued till 2 February 2018.
About 200 students from grade 8 and 9 enthusiastically participated in various six sporting events that went on
for three days. As per the provision one student could take part in three different events. As per the interest
of the students, there were 12 futsal teams of boys and 6 futsal teams of girls. Likewise, there were 10 boys’
teams and 12 girls’ teams in basketball. All these team events were played in league cum knockout system. All
the group matches were played in point based league system and from quarterfinal onwards the games were
played in knockout system.
To add more the students also played badminton, chess, table tennis and carom board. 70 boys and 90 girls
competed in their category of badminton. Likewise, 35 boys and 18 girls competed in chess games. 36 boys
competed in table tennis. In carom board, there were 45 boys and 66 girls competing in respective categories.
They young students’ athleticism came into display with the event and the certificate of excellence was handed
to each of the player by the Vice Principal on the third of the event. Following players were recognized for
their excellent display of sportsmanship and game performance in the various categories.

Juniors English Poetry Recitation (1 January 2018)


The sixteen selected students from grade four and five participated in Juniors English Poetry Recitation
competition held on 1 January 2018. After the audition taken by the respective house teachers they were
referred to the programme coordinator and Supervisor in English Department to work upon the rhythm of
poetry they are supposed to recite in the competition. The Supervisor selected the classical and musical
poetry from vast treasure of English literature and gave the students for practice. After rehearsing the poems
for a week or so, the students were taken to the Dance Hall for the final show. The school premises
reverberated with their sonorous voice giving mellifluous melody to the poem.
In the competition Dipsans Rijal (4B) from the Red House stood first. Likewise, Tejaswi Panta (4A) from the
Yellow House and Chakshu Devkota (5B) from the Red House can second as they had the same score. The
third position was bagged by Salina Gurung (4A) from the Green House.
The event not only entertained the students but also gave an exposure to the rhythm of English poetry. They
also learnt about the poets who wrote the poems they were given. This was a wonderful learning opportunity
for them.
TES Takes Title of Inter School Futsal Meet 2018 (3 February 2017)
TES Teachers’ team won the title of Inter School Futsal Meet 2018 held on 3 February 2018. The tournament
held at the Greenfield School Futsal Ground was jointly organized by Greenfield Educational Network and Lok
Adarsha Academy. In the one day tournament 12 teams from different school had participated. In the final
match, TES team defeated The Global Public School with the margin of four to nil. Earlier, TES team, coached
by school sports teacher Vijay Gurung, had defeated Oracle school with 4-3 and host Greenfield School with
6-2 goals in the group round.

In the quarterfinal, TES team defeated AGM School with seven to nil margin and in semis the TES team
thrashed New Zenith with the margin of 6-3 goals. Through the tournament the TES team did not have to
taste any defeat.

Tour for Ten (5-9 January 2018)


Adding the more pictures in the montage of life, the students of grade 10 had a wonderful visit to Pokhara as
well as Ghandruk as a part of their last trip from the school. The students who had been busily pressed with
their study from the beginning of the year were excited to on a grand tour along with their friends for the last
time in their school life.
On 5 January the buses filled with the students along with teachers left Kathmandu. The team reached Pokhara
by the evening. On the way, they enjoyed the beautiful view of Lake Begnas, the blue water with white
Himalayan peaks being reflected in the crystal clear water. The night was spent at a hotel in Pokhara.
Next morning, after having a breakfast the entourage left for Ghandruk, one of the best tourist destinations in
the country. After a couple of hours of bus tour and about an hour and a half hiking the team reach Ghandruk
a famous Gurung village in western Nepal. The exciting and enthralling views of the Himalayas and loving
people of Ghandruk gave a full enjoyment to the young travellers. Besides, they students got dressed like
Gurungs and Gurungsenis of the village and took their photos.
During their sightseeing, they enjoyed the panoramic views of the Annapurna Range whose watershed irrigate
all the western part of the country.
During their one night-two day stay at Ghandruk, they enjoyed barbecue and bonfire the evening giving
delights to their hearts. The to-and-fro trekking to Ghandruk remained pretty challenging for the city dwellers
who had not been in habit of foot trail treks.
Next day the team came back to Pokhara. They had two night stay over there. One morning the team started
with their tour to Tal Barahi, a unique temple like an island in the middle of Lake Fewa. After that the team
headed toward peace pagoda, a white stupa that stand on the western hillside of the Lake Fewa. The splendid
views of the snow capped mountains and their wonderful reflection in the water of Fewa enchanted every one.
Following that they visited world peace pagoda on the western hill of the valley, the young travellers visited
some other natural wonders of the valley including Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave, Gupteshowr Mahadev
temple in the cave, the Devi’s Fall. Completing their wonderful journey the team arrived Kathmandu on 9 th
January.
After their arrival at the school, one of the students shied, “Undeletable, unforgettable, splendid and
wonderful! I will cherish this throughout my life.”

Education Fair Organized (10 February 2018)


The Excelsior School Education Fair was organized on 10 February 2018 with the grand participation of our
valued guardians and parents. In the school fair, the students from grade four to grade nine showcased their
creative works to their parents and guardians. The students were divided in various groups under various
project headings for the preparation of their projects. With the guidance and coaching of their teachers, the
students prepared their work within a week. Through this process, the students learned various ideas by
participating in the activities. Besides, the subject matter they are involved in, they learned some social and
interpersonal skills while greeting, welcoming and describing their projects.
TES Team Brings 3rd Olympia U-14 Futsal Title Home (11-12 February 2018)
The Excelsior School U-14 boys football team brought the 3rd Olympia U-14 Title home. The team led by
captain Sashank Rumba and coached by school football coach Bishwash Lama took a sweet revenge on Loyalty
Academy by 2-1 in the final match of the tournament held on 12 February 2018. Among the participating 12
teams representing various schools in the valley, TES team had one win and one loss in league round. In the
league round Nepal had lost the game against Loyalty Academy by 1-2 goals. Rising juggernaut in second match
the TES team thrashed V. S Niketan School with 7-2 goals.

In the quarterfinal, TES team displayed an excellent game defeated Trinetra School by seven goals to nil. In
Semis, the team defeated Rosebud School by 2-1 again and had booked a place in the final.

After the match played at Shantinagar futsal located near Airport, Coach Lama appreciated the boys’
dedication and expressed his hope that the boys will be featuring in national level tournament one day.

Participation in NAST Bhawishya Programme (14 February 2018)


Students of grade 6 and 7 participated in Bhawishya a national event organized by Ministry of Science and
Technology co-organized by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology along with organizing partners like
Karkhana, Robotics Association of Nepal and Nepal Innovation Lab targeting young students aged 8-14. The
mega-event called various young students across the country and from TES Rishav Tiwari (6C), Praful Bhatta
(7A) and Suhani Bam (7C) participated. Science Department Instructional Supervisor Praskah Simkhada led
them to the programme. Participating in such programmes, the students get an exposure and learn the fact
that they have to compete with larger mass to be an outstanding one. They learn the fact that the world in not
limited within the periphery of the classroom.

TES Becomes Runner-up in 1st The Excelsior Inter School Futsal Tournament 2074 (14 February
2018)
The TES teachers’ team became the runner up in the 1 st The Excelsior Inter School Futsal Tournament 2074
held at the school premises. Twelve teams from different schools of the valley took part in the tournament. In
the final match played on 17 February 2018, the TES team coached by School sports teacher Vijay Gurung had
to solace itself in the second position as the final match went in favour of Daffodil School. In the final match,
the Daffodil teachers’ team scored five goals against 2 goals to the TES team.

Tejaswi and James Crowned as First Excelsior Singing Idol (25 February 2018)
Ojaswi Pant (4A) was crowned as the First Excelsior Singing Idol of 2018 in Juniors category. At the final show
of the Excelsior Talent Hunt 2018 held at the Dance Hall of the school on 25 February, she was crowned by
young pop singer Rohit John Chettri. In the programme, School Managing Director Ram Basnet, School music
teachers Luv Nagarkoti and Bikash Rana were also the judges. Among the 12 participants in the category,
Singer Pant left all her rival behind and mesmerized the judges by singing ...........in her sonorous voice.

Likewise in the seniors category, James Rai (9A) was decked with title of the First Excelsior Singing Idol. In
seniors category too, there were 12 participants in the final. Singing Laureate Rai sang .................song in the final
show. He is not only a good singer but also a good player of various instruments including guitar.

Sports Fest for Juniors (27-28 February 2018)


Completing the sporting events for seniors and inters level earlier in the month, the juniors sports fest was
held in The Excelsior School premises on 27 and 28 February 2018. More than 200 students from grade 4 and
5 competed in six different games making several teams. In futsal there were 16 boys’ teams and 4 girls’ teams.
in basket ball there were 10 boys teams and 8 girls teams. Like in badminton 70 boys and 67 girls participated.
32 boys and same number of girls participated in the table tennis competition. Similarly in chess 38 boys 21
girls competed with each other. In the game of carom board there were 70 boys and 68 girls. For all the
events one student was allowed to take part in maximum three different events.
During their two-day fest, the students enjoyed their games and displayed their sportsmanship. They were
coached and helped with their sports teachers.
At end of the event, Vice Principal Prashant Rajak presented the certificate of excellence to the young athletes
who were able to secure first, second and third position in the games.

Holi: Festival of Colours (1 March 2018)


On March 1, the hostel students at The Excelsior School enjoyed their quality time with their teachers and
friends celebrating Holi. They splashed water and put on colours to each other to celebrate the festival. The
students seemed quite happy to play with water and colours. The teachers also participated with them and
enjoyed their time.

Preschool students learn about land transport (5-6 March 2018)


The preschool school students from grade Nursery, LKG and UKG were taken to the ring road and Buddha
Park to make them familiar about land transport especially about road transport. The students who were
taken to the visit in groups observed the various kinds of vehicles plying on the road and talked to people
about them. Besides, they also held a short talk with the traffic police. The commuters and the police officers
were happy to have chat with the young learners.
After the visit, pre-primary in-charge Rachana Khanal said, “Such visit help the children learn objectively. They
make queries and observe the things directly and construct their ideas.” The children, meantime, learn the
names of vehicles by observing them and develop their interpersonal and communicative skills by interacting
with people involved in course.

Grade Two Parents’ Day (10 March 2018)


The school organizes parents’ day every year, which serves as a means of exposure of students’ talent in other
areas of activities apart from academic studies. Lately, on 10 March 2018, the school organized parents’ day for
the parents of the students of class two. The program started with a delivery of opening speech by the Vice
principal, in which he extended greetings and welcomed the parents. And then students from class two
showcased their performance to their parents. Everyone got delighted with the fantastic performance of the
students.

Participation in Seminar: Role of Natural History Museum in Quality Science Education in


Schools (16 March 2018)
Science Department Instructional Supervisor Praskash Simkhada participated in a one-day seminar on the Role
of Natural History Museum in Quality Science Education in School. As a participant, he got acquainted with the
latest programmes scheduled by the museum focusing on the high school science study. The seminar chaired

and the possible benefits the schools can have from it. Experts in the field, Professor Ram Krishna and
Associate Professor Krishna Bhakta highlighted the need of reform in science education and how the museum
could play a positive role for the change. The museum that houses more than 55,000 specimens of plants and
animals from across the country could give entire details of the biological beings in the country and many
other parts of the world. After the participation, Supervisor Simkhada shared that, “The event was very useful
and we will soon formulate a programme of taking our young students to the museum where they will have
chances of looking at the species and get firsthand knowledge about them.”
