METHODOLOGY OF PILE PULL – OUT TEST

1.0 Technical Description


The services to be provided under this proposal are for the performance of the anchor pullout
capacity that will be tested on-site with confirmatory to the theoretical pull out capacity from soil
reports prepared in accordance herewith will be prepared by, or under the direct supervision of a
Professional Engineer.

1.2 Field Testing


The purpose of the test is to provide pull out capacity of anchorage on actual condition at
different pile diameter: 8 inches, 10 inches and 14 inches, or as per specified diameter by the
client.

2.0 Scope of Work

2.1 General
The work and services to be provided under this agreement are for the performance of soils
engineering and related work as may be required by the client. The Contractor will, at the
direction of the client, perform any or all of the following tasks. These tasks will be accomplished
in conformance with the standards and specifications of the client “Geotechnical works for
Wind Farm project” including modifications and/or new additions thereof, unless otherwise
specified.

2.1 Pile pull out test (Field Works)

Pile Construction
2.1.1 Drilling a bore hole into the ground for mentioned diameter and depth as per
Attached Drawing.
2.1.2 Placing the leg of the column centrally in the borehole.
2.1.3 Concreting the bore hole with M25 and providing collar/pedestal of mentioned
height.
2.1.4 Use of needle vibrator is mandate for compaction of concrete work.
2.1.5 Curing of concrete to be done.

Pile Testing
2.1.6 Test shall be carried out under “wet soil” conditions ( ie to be tested piles are kept wet
with water for 72 hours before testing).
2.1.7 Load will be applied using a loading jack that will pull the pile on the ground. Settlement
gauges is attached to the pile to measure the movement of the pile from the direction of
the pull up force applied.
2.1.8 Data are logged in the test worksheet as approved by the client.

2.1.9 Termination of the test will be based from the maximum capacity of pile and or the
maximum settlement of 25 mm.
