Global citizenship Essay

Ambassador School of Global Leadership, has set a mission to help their students to

become a global leader and citizen learner.Being a global citizen is important in being a

successful person in the future.There are many different definitions of what is a global

leader.One way of being a global learner in today's society is to be a role model for other

people.A global citizen is someone who understand other people's perspectives with an open

mind.We are thought to be a change in our communities.Our school is also preparing us to

become college and career ready.The school shows us the global performance outcomes (GPOs)

that are used in daily assignments.There is four GPOs they are Investigate the

World,Communicate Ideas,Recognize Perspectives, and Take Action.

Dolores Clara Fernández is an example of global citizen because Huerta was known for

her kindness and compassion towards others and was active in community affairs. Dolores later

became American labor leader and civil rights activist who was the co-founder of the National

Farmworkers Association, which later became the United Farm Worker. Dolores was the first

Latina inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame, in 1993. Thanks to her success Dolores

Huerta has worked to improve social and economic conditions for farm workers and to fight

discrimination against those who underwent suffering.I find this inspiring because she achieved

so many accolades despite being latina, she also aided those people who had no voices. Also she

gave me confidence to strive for success I am willing to be successful and utilize all the

resources at my disposal in order to have easy outgoing successful life.

 Becoming a global Leader and citizen hasn't been easy,because when I first came to

ASGL, I was a shy person and I found it difficult to connect to anyone, however it has helped me

to strengthen my analyzing and critical thinking skills.Apart from communicating it also helped

in understanding the different perspectives of others, unlike before I wouldn't consider other

people’s point of view and now that I have mastered this skill it has open a whole new way of

considering other people’s opinion and how they look at the topic. I have attended ASGL for

seven years and throughout those seven years,the global performance outcomes have followed

me.Being in a school that is global it has helped me be more aware of global issues that are

occuring around the world.For example some global issues I was aware of was the lack of

unemployment and global warming.Mastering my global performance outcomes has come in

handy in school to do a lot better for my future.The GPOs has helped me understand that there is

a lot of opportunities and that is good to keep the options open.

Now mastering all the global outcomes, it's such a huge help because its a better

contributor on the global stage.Global learning and engaging is critical to the world because it

helps understand that there are more important problems going on around the world then my own

problems.The global outcomes help me get out my comfort zone and be able to take action on

issues that can be affecting my community.One who has not achieved global comentency is not a

competitive because their going to be at a disadvantage to those who are globally aware of

problems happening around the world. Im very thankful to my school ASGL because they have

prepare me to face the worse and be ready for anything that comes roaring and blocking my path.
