Movie Summary
The movie begins with an old woman named
Rose DeWitt telling the story of her memo-
ries being
a young
woman
onboard
the Titanic
before it
set sail
for Amer-
ica in 1912. Her story is a tragic love story
that describes how she met and quickly fell
in love with a young man named Jack Daw-
son. Dawson was poor and she was very
wealthy, but they met by chance one night
when Rose threated to jump off the Titanic
because of challenges in her life. Rose was
already engaged to a wealthy man named
Caledon Hockley but she was not in love.
Rose and Jack continued to see each other
regardless of her mother’s disapproval.
One the night that the Titanic hit the iceberg
Caledon planted a priceless piece of jewelry
in his pocket to make it seem as if he had
stolen it after painting a picture of Rose.
Summary Continued
Jack was taken down to the lower levels and left
handcuffed while everyone else were frantically
trying to board the life boats and evacuate the
ship. Rose went back down to look for him and
managed to free him just in time. They hurried
back up to the
top deck but
all of the life
boats had
already de-
parted. So
Rose and Jack
were forced to jump into the frigid waters. Rose
somehow ended up on a floating wooden door,
but there was no room for Jack to lay next to
her. Sadly, Jack passed due to the freezing
from the icy temperature, moments before help
arrived. Rose made it to safety and 90 years
later has never forgotten the true love she ex-
perienced on the Titanic.

 The RMS Titanic was the world’s largest
passenger ship measuring 882 feet
in length. It was the largest man-
made moving object on Earth.
 There were only 16 lifeboats and
four collapsible boats aboard the
Titanic, which was only enough to
accommodate one third of the pas-
sengers.
 The iceberg that hit the Titanic was
100 feet tall and was located off a
glacier near Greenland.
 This ship received six warnings
about the iceberg during the voy-
age.
 The last remaining survivor of the
disaster was named Millvina Dean
and she died on May 31, 2009. She
was 97 years old and only two
months when she was on the ship.
