Team Meeting
3/20/18
 Sub Calls
o The secretary, Deb, will be out a few weeks because she broke her wrist over spring
break. She will be scheduling subs even though she is out of the office.
 Conferences
o Highs and Lows – Nothing stood out
o When should we close off grades next year
o Did we like sharing Iowa Assessments with parents or should we send them home
earlier?
 Legislation may choose a different assessment
 Maps Testing
o Dates need to be set
 April 24th-27th
 Read a Million Minutes
o It was easy!
o Next year we should add a parent signature line to the tally sheet
o Students got a visual motivation when seeing the “wall” being built in the hallway
 Jump Rope for Heart
o Money is due tomorrow
o Next year let’s not put it back to back with the reading rally
 “May Madness” would allow us to jump outside
 Spring Field Trips
o Plans need to be submitted by this week
o We cannot charge families for field trips
o $3 max per child
 Fundraising Idea
o Lock-In, 2-3 hours
o Each teacher oversees an activity (ex. movie, computer games, food, etc.)
o $10 per kid to get in
 End of Year Activity
o Centers rotate the students around
o Teachers oversee an activity, Associates guide a group of students from one activity
to another
 Baby Showers
o Early April
o Host both at one time
 Crisis Activity Scenario B: Intruder Gun Threat

You are in front of your classroom giving instructions as class has just started. You see a man walk by
your door and he appears to be carrying a gun. When you look into the hallway you do not see
anyone, but you hear yelling coming from Mr/Mrs. ___ classroom next to yours. There is a moment of
very little noise. Then you hear popping noises and what sounds like more yelling/screaming.

What you know: You do not know the man you saw and he did not see you. Your classroom door is
closed. Your students don’t seem to have an awareness that anything is out of the ordinary. Several of
your students are asking, “What was that noise?”
