TAPE SELECT Switch ‘TC-133CS is provided with the TAPE SELECT switch which makes the best use of the high per- formance tape. When the high performance tape is used for a conventional tape recorder, the signal is recorded with emphasis especially at high frequency range since this tape has a high output characteristic at high frequency range. See Fig. 1-1. In this model, to compensate high frequency response, the TAPE SELECT switch (S7) is employed in the record equal- izer circuit. The high performance tape, with the TAPE SELECT switch set to the SPECIAL position, affords the following advantages: 1, Excellent frequency response 2. Extremely wide dynamic range 3, Extremely low distortion 4, Excellent signal-to-noise ratio NORMAL position SPECIAL position 101418 (ke) = frequency Fig. 1-1. Frequency-response curve using high performance tape 2. REC MODE Switch (S4) With REC MODE switch set to MONO position, Rchannel input signal is recorded on both R- and L-channel tracks of tape. When recording monaural signal, use R-channel input jacks. Input Jack 1-2.
