INTRODUCTION

Importance of the On-the-Job-Training

This On-The-Job Training is an activity designed for the students to

become ready in entering their real life. It is very important because it gives

overview and provides first-hand experience to the trainees into actual world.

Likewise, it transformed the trainees into prepared individuals who face the

challenges in their actual business world.

This work immersion is very helpful on the part of the students for it gives

them the chance for being employees even for a short period of time, the feeling

on how to perform a task inside the workplace. In addition, the training will also

develop the pleasant relationship between the trainees and to their employer.

Objectives of On-the-Job Training

This Work Immersion was designed for its purpose which is to train

students in acquiring, developing and enhancing their skills that they need in

working to business industry.

Time and Place of On-The-Job Training

The On-The-Job Training of Grade 12 took 80 hrs. The training started at

8:00 in the morning and 5:00 in the afternoon. The workplace of their training was

at Abella’s Bakeshop at District 4, San Manuel, Isabela.

Strategies and Limitations of On-The-Job Training

The supervisor divided the trainees into two groups, wherein, during the

performance of the first group the other group’s task was to observe. Using of

any gadgets while performing is not allowed. Trainees also spent time to share

learnings and experiences during the course of training.

COMPANY’S PROFILE

History

Before Abella’s bakery grew and became famous in the Municipality of

San Manuel, it started from a simple bakeshop without enough utensils and

equipments to be used to produce their products. They lent money from informal

creditors- “Bumbay” for their capital and to buy a second-hand oven. The owner,

Mrs. Marites Abella Aguilar is a high school graduate without training and

knowledge about baking industry, but it is just her interest and because she is

strategic and hardworking, she came to manage her business. The owner visited

different bakeries to buy breads and later on, she found out what certain secrets

and strategies in baking breads. Until her small bakery grew up with branches,

she continued to develop and progress minding the criticisms as room for

innovation and open door of continuous success.

To become the leading bakery shop of distinctly, freshly baked and quality

goods that satisfies the demand of our dear customers.

To create and serve an exceptional high quality baked goods to fulfill

customer satisfaction and continuously think of product innovation to provide

them new features and a unique taste.

Daily Accomplishment Report

Week 1 (November 27, 2017-December 1, 2017)

November 27, 2017 (Monday)

This day was considered as the first day of our Job immersion, the Pre-

Immersion Orientation Cum Seminar with Workshop. Three speakers where

selected to speak in front of us. First is Sir Richard Esguerra who discussed the

Work Ethics, next to him is Sir Nelson Versoza who tackled about the Job

Credentials, and lastly, the last speaker, Sir Hensley Marquez who tackled about

the Importance of Portfolio and how to craft it and after the discussion of the

chosen speakers, I attend to a workshop activity which is the job interview. I was

assigned to Sir Richard Esguerra and he rated a passing grade of 78%.

November 28, 2017 (Tuesday)

First day of our actual work immersion. I arrived at Abella’s bakery shop at

exactly 7:20 am, before we started making our first product which was the burger

bun. Tita Editha, the assistant manager and also one of the bakers oriented us

about the dos and don’ts of the baking. Then after Tita Editha talked, we were

excited to begin producing our product. The outcome of it was not that good but

we felt overwhelmed after accomplishing it.

November 29, 2017 (Wednesday)

Second day, I arrived at our workplace at 6:52 am. Our product this day

was Pandesal. But before we start the baking, we cleaned first the area of the

baking including the utensils we needed.

November 30, 2017 (Thursday)

Third day of our work immersion. I arrived in the workplace at 7:12 am.

Our group produce Buko Roll and the other group, Cinnamon Roll, we finished

our products at 11:00 am and in the afternoon we observed the other group.

December 1, 2017 (Friday)

We baked Banana Cake while the other group, Ensaymada. Our group

was assigned to clean the workplace again then after cleaning and preparing the

tools needed, we started making our product.

Week 2 (December 4, 2017- December 8, 2017)

December 4, 2017 (Monday)

I arrived at the workplace at exactly 7:48 am, because of the heavy rain.

Our product was the Crinkles to be followed by Monde but we worked as one

group. I enjoyed this day, because aside from the merging of the two groups, the

products we made were delicious and interesting.

December 5, 2017 (Tuesday)

This day was the evaluation day, each of us performed Tita Editha’s

individually. She choose the burger buns to be our output. I performed in the

afternoon for this day. I was wrong when I added water onto my product that

caused my output to be sticky but then after it was baked, I was very surprised

because the outcome of my product was not that perfect but it looked good.

December 6, 2017 (Wednesday)

Since we individually performed yesterday, today was just a continuation

of the evaluation. There were nine person evaluated by Tita Editha. Besides I

was assessed yesterday, I just observed the second group’s performance.

December 7, 2017 (Thursday)

This was the final practicum of those who were not yet done in the

individual evaluation. After they performed, we prepared a simple celebration,

thanksgiving and at the same time our farewell to them. Because of Tita Editha

and Kuya Marfie I was given a chance to experience and learned on how to bake

and to work on a bakery like that.

December 8, 2017 (Friday)

This day was the Post- Immersion day, wherein we shared our

experiences by reading our diaries. And also Sir Richard asked some queries to

us one by one about what we have learned in taking my practicum.

LEARNINGS

This on-the-job- training was not just a requirement for me but more than

that, it taught me to do such work and finished it with all your efforts, likewise it

also developed my social skills by openly interacting with my classmates and to

the personnel at the workplace.
