(b) Is it important to other domain?

Based on the domain in our assignment, we have discussed about the virtual
reality in entertainment field. Although VR technology has gathered notable attentions
in areas like entertainment (gaming), it also has potential to plunge into other domain
too. In contrast, the others domain, educational, medicine and marketing also have the
potential to plunge in VR technology.
First of all, educational and technology is interconnected. The advancement of
technology nowadays makes the education better. In educational field, virtual reality
play as a role for higher level knowledge transfer. Virtual reality encourage students
learn-by-doing by directly engage with the things they learned in classroom through
immersive interactive experiences. (EON, 2017) It is one of the methods of learning
which totally different from the traditional learning method, memorizing. Virtual
reality able to let student to apply, analyze, evaluate their knowledge, improving
creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication. Students are able to
learn faster through learn-by-doing.
For instant, according to an article pasted by eNyota Learning, one of the most
successful models of virtual reality in education was World of Comenius project. This
project was a biology lesson for a school in Czech Republic that used VR to facilitate
innovative scientific learning. (Anon., 2017) Below are some of the pictures of virtual
learning that use in education:

Other than education, virtual realistic is also important in health care. The
example application and software of virtual reality in health care such as, Human
Simulation Software, Virtual Reality Diagnostics, and Virtual Robotic Surgery.
(Virtual Reality, 2017) All these applications and software are important and brings a
lot of benefits towards the society. These enable doctors to perform their job well and
provide training for those professions.
Human Simulation Software is one of the HumanSim systems which enable
doctors, nurses and other medical personnel to interact with others in an interactive
environment. Virtual Reality Diagnostics enables doctors to arrive at a diagnosis in
conjunction with other methods such as MRI scans. This removes the need for
invasive procedures or surgery. Virtual Robotic Surgery is where surgery is performed
by means of a robotic device – controlled by a human surgeon, which reduces time
and risk of complications. (Virtual Reality, 2017)

By using VR in health care, it enables to speed up recovery after stroke. For

patients who survived a stroke or traumatic brain injury, time is the key of recovery.

The earlier they start to rehabilitation, the higher the chances to gain back the function

they had lost. Moreover, VR provides opportunities for those professions, doctors,

trainee and others watching operations as if you wielded the scalpel. VR will allow

them to actually be there in the operation room using their VR goggles. (Medical

Futurist, 2016)

Besides, not only in education and health care, virtual reality is also important in

marketing field. This is because of through the use of digital technology; virtual

realities can be designed precisely for human interaction for very specific reasons to

create experiences not otherwise possible. The virtual reality in marketing draws

people to their exhibits and involves them with a product much more than standard

displays. Cabletron, a cable network company in Rochester, has customers travel

through their network virtually. Thus, VR enables to increase the feel of interest

among the consumer.
