Directions: Using the template below, describe how you would use the interactive whiteboard in your
future classroom. Consider if your ideas is teacher centered or student centered. The learning activities
should be engaging and meaningful to the students and to others who will view/use/benefit from students’
work.

Description of how to implement in the class: Students will be using the interactive whiteboard to
create their own model of the water cycle. Each group is responsible for one of the stages and
illustrating how it relates to the entire cycle.

Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): LoTi Level 4 best describe this lesson as students are
the center of instruction and they are using higher order thinking skills to create their own product of
the water cycle.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. The learning goals of this activity are for students
to collaborate with each other and effectively use technology to create their own model of the water cycle.
Students will become the leaders in the classroom and take control of their learning. They will also help
them learn from each other and promotes collaboration with peers.
Importance of technology: Interactive whiteboards are important in the classroom because it is a different
way to teach content to students. This is a fun and engaging way for students to learn material. This allows
the classroom to be less teacher-centered and more student-centered which increases motivation and student
participation. Student can also use iPads or other devices to find illustrations of the water cycle.
Reflection: I learned how powerful interactive whiteboards can be in the classroom and the use of this
technology helps enhance the overall learning experience. Incorporating this technology gives opportunity
to allow students to use the technology to foster their own learning and engagement in the content, and also
allows for more collaboration.
