Overall aim and context of the lesson

For clarification, the lesson plan was the supportive approach for me in achieving my learning
outcomes in this lesson by allow the students to:

- Recognize number 7.
- Count and write number 7.

SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing:
I taught students number 7 lesson which aims to allow them recognize number 7, count and write
number 7. This lesson has been prepared according to student’s levels in the learning cycle by giving
them differentiated learning centers activities, for instance, write number 7 in correct way, count the
objectives picture that is in the worksheet and write their number, find number 7 between several
numbers and draw a circle on it. So, from this method of teaching students will develop their
mathematics aspect.

Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for? Where did the lesson take place?
This lesson was targeted for KG1 who are from 4 to 5 years old, the lesson has taken place in the
classroom and I introduced it by allowing the students to sit in the circle area, then I separated them into
the three groups to have the independent experience activities and when they finished the activities I
asked them to come in the circle area to conclude the lesson with an enthusiastic activity.

What were you trying to achieve in your lesson? What did the students do?
During this lesson I tried to achieve the learning outcomes by teaching students how to recognize
number 7, how to count tell 7 and write the number 7, the supportive method of achieving these goals

3
was providing students an engaging and challenging activities to suits their levels, abilities and to
motivate them by being focused on the activities.

Based on that, students were involved in the lesson and the activities because when they finished the
activity they came to show me what they did by saying (this is number 7 and we have 7 fingers also), so
from this excitement it shows that students understand the concept of the lesson.

Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did? How well did your teaching relate to
the students’ prior understanding? How well did you engage the students?
According to student’s response, I can say that they were engaged very well and get encouraged in the
learning activities when I gave them to write number 7 because they were saying that (ms look we did it
and write number 7 in correct way), and from that excitement I noticed that they understood the lesson
well.

For clarifying, I did an activity that was related to students prior understanding in the conclusion by
placing 5 baskets in the circle area and let students to be in front of each basket by creating 5 groups,
then I will hold on my hand the colorful stick, when I will count from 1 to 3 each student from all the
groups will start to come one by one and take the stick to put it the basket tell they collect 7 sticks. This
just showed that students were reach the learning outcomes because they were actively doing the
activity in correcting and exciting way.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective.
As I noticed that, this lesson was very attractive and effective because all the students were actually
enjoyed the activities, participating to show me how they are recognized the number 7 very well, for
example, some students were coming to me and count from 1 to 7 using their fingers). As a result, from
these responses of students I considered that the lesson plan was reached students levels and their
understanding.

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

To promote the information, the number 7 lesson was effective at the end of the lesson I reached my
learning outcomes and students evolved their skills and abilities in several of ways during the learning
activities. As an example, students were writing number 7in correct way, count the objectives picture
that is in the worksheet and write their number, find number 7 between several numbers and draw a
circle on it. So, I can say that most of the students have met my objectives.

4
Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
As looking forward to my future, I will continue my teaching strategies in this way to attract student’s
attention, for instance, shake your hands five times, ringing bell, make letter m with your mouth. So,
from these strategies I will be able to maintain the good behavior in the classroom.

What are the implications for your professional practice?

I general, I noticed that I had an opportunity to manage student’s behavior by using teacher voice when
they are misbehaving or when I want to catch their behavior by changing my voice to suits students and
let them understand what the teacher want from them and I she is happy or sad.
