Brochure Pretesting Results

The diabetes and exercise brochure was pretested on seven women in ages ranging from 45 to

79. Their health status was inclusive of not having diabetes, having pre-diabetes, and having

controlled diabetes. The pretesting questions were asked as a group and all responses are given

as a group consensus.

1. What is the first thing that caught your eye when you first saw this piece?

They like that the pictures were not intimidating and seemed to speak to their varying age

groups. They also found it inviting to read since it was brief and not too busy with excess

wording.

2. What do you think its main message is?

They determined that the brochure was informing them that exercise was good for everyone one

with or without diabetes.

3. Does it raise your interest in the subject?

It raised interest in six of the seven.

4. Do you think the wording is appropriate for the target audience?

They all found the wording appropriate to the topic and the audience.

5. What improvements would you make in its layout?

Three of the seven said that they would have added more color to the background of the

brochure.

6. What could be added or removed to improve it?

Four of the seven would have added a time-management component to the planning section.
