Omri: Hello and welcome back to

Ag: Channel 7!

Keira: Today we are going to talk about the sources of ethical teachings and central

beliefs of Judaism to detail their belief in God, observance of law, practice of the

concepts of righteousness and justice, and importance of study.

Omri: Let’s start breaking some news! Hit it Ag!

Ag: The seeds of the tree of Judaism were planted in The Bronze Age, which were

formed and influenced by the Torah and Ten Commandments, among other works, as

those texts were thought to be holy and written by God. Judaism was also influenced by

other religions, such as Babylonian and Christianity. These religions and works were

influential in the way that Judaism is central among them, and many of the central

themes of Judaism are similar to the central themes of the Torah.

Keira: Jews studied Torah because they believed that because God created the Torah,

and that made it a holy object.

Omri: Great! Any more information or did you guys not study in class, again?

Keira: No, we have more, Omri, want to share with us?

Omri: Did you know that the Jews read from so many books that influenced them? They

also read from the Talmud, Torah, Ten Commandments, Siddur, and the Hagada.
Ag: No Way!

Omri: Let’s go meet my friend Jackie in NYC with some more information! (Transition)

Keira: Did you know that Judaism is a religion which dates back to almost 4,000 years

ago?

Ag: Really! That is so cool, no wonder there are so many of us. But, I have more

information. Hear this, it is outstanding! Did you know that the Hebrew Bible emerged

out of an oral tradition developed by the ancient Israelite community in an effort to

narrate their history, explain the origins of the cosmos, and define their place in it as

members of the larger human community. The process of putting thoughts in this oral

tradition into writing began during the period of the Davidic Monarchy in 1000 B.C.E.

and lasted approximately 800 years.

Omri: They believed that education was very important, so when every child was ready

to learn, they had to have education on the Torah and sacred texts.

Keira: The Ten Commandments said that there has to be justice and kindness

throughout Israel and between people. This influenced the Jews to pray, and have

education on the Ten Commandments.

Omri: I have so many questions, does anyone have any answers?

(Filming Ag trying to run away slowly, but then catch him to answer Omri’s questions)

Keira: Why are you running away?

Ag: Um…. No reason, here um, I have more information. Wait, wait let me think, ok! I

got it here, did you know that they got most of their education from the Law of Moses in

first 5 books of the Torah.

Omri: No, I didn’t know that!

Ag: Well, ha, I did!

Keira: Ok, ok, stop arguing, everyone here is smart .

Ag: In conclusion, Jews studied Torah because it was very important to them, because

they believed that God authored the Torah which makes it very important. Justice was

one of the Ten Commandments, which is why they always wanted kindness, peace, and

justice.

Omri: Ok, ok that is enough information, you don’t need to explain that much.

Keira: Thank you for visiting and watching channel 7, we will see you next week!
