AR2.0 Maintenance Release Notes

Changes/fixes from 2.11.0.7 to new version 2.12.0.0
- Completion of VMS 1000 functionality: detailed information about usage see Tamping Manual
or contact us directly
- TGR as part of Survey application: When the Track Geometry Record (TGR) licence is
available on the dongle from now on the editor is also available in the Survey application
and not only in Tamping and Slabtrack application. (GOX-6920)
- Relative and absolute CP editor: Proper tabulator key usage has been introduced into the
two design data editors. When adding new CPs or editing existing ones, it's now possible to
jump from field to field by pressing tabulator key of the keyboard. In other editors this
has already been working properly. (GOX-6860)
- Clearance application - merging and processing steps: In version 2.11.0.6 (see below) we
introduced the possibility to start several processing steps at once. In this version we
have enhanced the selection dialogue, which can be reached by right-clicking on the
application and selecting "Merge job data and process", that also the data merging step is
part of this dialogue. This means that merging and all main processing steps can be started
at once. Furthermore when processing tasks are finished, a final dialogue will appear, which
gives information about success of each step. (GOX-6822/6815)
- Clearance Map view: The quality of the reflectivity image for scan data has been improved
for all types of supported laser scanners. To see the positive effect for existing processed
data, pre-processing and merging must be done again. (GOX-6908)
- Track view - all applications - interval points: In certain cases track view didn't open,
when display setting was set to "Interval points" for the corresponding application. This
problem has been fixed. (GOX-6928)

- L-Dist measurements in Tamping measurement screens: If a measurement is not successful the

user is informed that the measurement failed. In old versions the measurement screen froze.

- LandXML import for design alignments: When importing some types of LandXML the transitions
in the horizontal design alignment did have the wrong start azimuth. This has been fixed.
(GOX-6831/6842)
- Tamping track view: The export of WinALC files in cases where start stationing of
horizontal design alignment element and superelevation element were very similar but not
identical caused problems in the software Win ALC, when opening the *.geo file. This problem
has been fixed by introducing an accepted stationing bandwidth for such cases. (GOX-6871)

- New project wizard - page 6: Project folder automatically proposed according to entered
project name. (GOX-6742)
- Overlap merge editor: Splitter between graphic and table working properly. (GOX-6688)
- Clearance application - clearance / projection processing: Clearance / projection model
can be added / changed by right-clicking on the application and selecting "Change Models".
(GOX-6743)
- Clearance application: Processing steps "clearance", "projection" and "3D" can now be
started all at once. Right-click on the application and select "Process data" to reach the
corresponding dialogue. (GOX-6803)
- Tamping track view - Text report: Syntax for gauge tolerance made more understandable and
added tolerance information for twist. (GOX-6809)
- Measurement modules - Total station info: When entering a comment for the total station
setup (dialogue "New Setup", field "Comment" below "Setup ID"), this comment is now shown in

- Clearance Profile view - TAB Map view profile: Correct view update for display of

- Licencing: TGR licence again displayed in "About" dialogue, when available. (GOX-6708)
- Integration of latest translation of Chinese user interface (GOX-6732)

- Overlap handling for single points: calculations made more robust for special measurement

- Internal code refactoring in different areas, no changes for users --> anyway recommended
to use this version from now on

- Applications using Interval settings. Under certain circumstances Amberg Rail froze when
opening the track view of the application. This has been fixed. (GOX-6697)
- There were problems with stationing values of measured profiles acquired with Tamping jobs
(Tamping 3D, Long chord, Control point survey 2D). This only happened if only single profile
points have been acquired. This has been fixed now. (GOX-6696)

- Tamping track view - Text report (1): Changed contents of text report (function "Text
report...") (changed content of header part; deleted data columns: chainage, horizontal
version long, vertical versine long; added data columns: twist, code, comment; added

- Tamping track view - Text report (2): The export dialogue for the text report now allows
the user to activate the function "Apply defined final elevation to height deviation", which
calculates the height deviation values shown on the report under consideration of the

- Tamping track view - Export machine driver report: The machine driver report now contains
an additional column containing the point number as defined during measurement. (GOX-6476)
- Clearance Profile view: CTC coordinates added to profile ASCII export (function "Export"
-> "Export to ASCII...") (GOX-6465)
- Clearance Profile view: In settings dialogue under "Profile view" -> "Clearance layer" the
default value of the setting "Clearance minimum distance" has been changed from "0" to
"-10". In this way it's guaranteed that all infringements will be visible by default.

- Clearance shapes: Import of shapes in DXF format correct, when unit settings are feet.

- Survey Track view: In DXF, ASCII, LandXML and LandXML (as design) export dialogues there
is a new option that allows to export the height of the lower rail together with track
centre line position. This can be interesting in case no leading rail definition is
available. (GOX-6464)
- Height reduction for ASCII export (see also version 2.10.4.3 below): The export option has
been moved directly to the corresponding export dialogues. It gets visible, when clicking on
the "+" symbol in the dialogue. (GOX-6462)
- Dutch translation of user interface available now (GOX-6605)

- SlabTrack track view: On text report only deviation fields (and not measured values any

- Tamping chord method job: In the options dialogue (File --> Options...) under
"Preferences" - "Measurement Settings" there is a new setting called "Measurement processing
settings", which allows tamping chord method users to switch on-site pre-processing on or
off. By default the processing is switched on. Switching off reduces waiting time in the
field (e.g. when starting the next chord), but brings also the risk that users don't have a
complete feedback, whether the measurement has been completely successful or not. (GOX-6403)
- Height reduction for ASCII export: In the options dialogue (File --> Options...) under

"Preferences" - "Import / Export" there is a new setting called "ASCII export height
reduction". With this setting, which is switched off by default, the user can define a
height value, by which the absolute track axis height will be reduced (perpendicular to top
of rail), when doing an ASCII export from the track view of the Tamping and Survey
application. In countries, where the height reference isn't top of rail, but somewhere below
(e.g. bottom of the rail), this setting can be used to export the correct height
coordinates. (GOX-6290)
- Clearance Map view: ASCII export of running track now contains superelevation calculated
under consideration of superelevation base defined in the configuration set. (GOX-6262)
- Adapted some Czech UI translations. (GOX-6406)

- DosALC export: correct export of Bloss and Schramm ramps for superelevation (GOX-6280)
(actually the correction was already done for 2.10.4.0, but unfortunately there happened an
error when committing to the release version)
- Profile view - DXF export: worst case distances are now correctly exported to DXF (GOX-6362)
- Profile view - DXF export: text information within the DXF export file are now properly
scaled when using unit settings "Feet" (GOX-6353)
- CZ UI Translation: adapted some text lengths in the measurement module for Czech UI
(GOX-6361)

- Support of Amberg Profiler 6012: With this software version the new Amberg Profiler 6012,
which can measure with up to 200 rotations per second, is supported. The only restriction
for the moment is a data rate of max. 500'000 points per second. Support of a data rate of
1'000'000 points per second is in development, but not yet functional. (GOX-6256)
- Import / Transfer of absolute CPs to relative CP editor: Now it is possible within the
Relative CP editor to either import an ASCII file with absolute control points or transfer
absolute control points from the Absolute CP editor. More detailed information can be found
in the Amberg Rail Base manual. (GOX-5599)
- Profile view: Setting "automatic scaling (fit all)" for graphical profile reports works
again as expected. (GOX-6288)
- Correct import of LandXML 1.1 files to Horizontal Alignment. (GOX-6286)
- Tamping long chord measurement screen: no more flickering of arrows and table elements
(GOX-6285)
- DosALC export: correct export of Bloss and Schramm ramps for superelevation (GOX-6280)
- See also changes/fixes for 2.10.0.5 below, since this version never became public

- Relative control point (CP, LP) measurement: Horizontal offsets and deviations displayed
in the measurement module for CPs on the left side of the track are now correct in case of
using horizontal target offsets in connection with the measurement. This concerns
measurement jobs Tamping Absolute 3D for GRP 3000, Control Point Survey 2D, Tamping Chord
Method, Clearance Absolute for GRP 3000 and Clearance Relative for GRP 3000. Note: Data
storage and further office evaluation have always been correct. This problem has only

concerned offset and deviation display in the measurement module.(GOX-6255)

- TGR: now it is possible to select and delete one or several measurements within the TGR
data view (GOX-6215)
- TGR: now the user can edit, add or delete codes and comments within the TGR data view by
double-clicking into the corresponding field (GOX-6216)
- TGR: all information types selected by the user will be shown from now on in graphic view
or table even if corresponding information isn't available or cannot be calculated because
of missing measurement or design data (there will e.g. be N/A in column, but user at least
can see what he has selected) (GOX-6218/6219)
