THE GOLDEN JEWEL

M editation is my Golden Jewel. There is a

power that can bring anyone to the full joy
of who they are if they would just relax in the
meditation process, without expectations and in a
loving attitude. At first it seems like one is
receiving this Joy from somewhere, then one
realizes how this Joy is available to everyone, and
ultimately he knows he is that Joy.The Golden
light, which is the source of ever new joy with
which one unites again in the process of
meditation, is the real goal of every man who is
searching for truth. This is the diamond of our
soul.
I have a joyful and enthusiastic interest toward the
mysteries of life that has been with me since
childhood. I was able to experience myself as a
silent presence within, and it was remarkable to
know that that presence was my real identity. I
knew I was not what I was doing. Every time I
would refer to this silent presence inside myself,
this became obvious. Also, I realized that I could
not possibly be anything that I would imagine
myself doing. Nothing could express properly this
silent presence within that I was experiencing and
that I was widely aware of.

7
As you can see, the question 'Who Am I?" is a
question that comes up naturally to all human
beings who, consciously or not, need to compare
their true essence with their life which takes place
externally.
At some point it happened that I got inspired by
incredible teachings. These are the teachings of
Kriya Yoga, especially as they are exposed by the
Great Master Paramhansa Yogananda.
His voice, through his written words, resonated
inside me like a big, powerful bell. I was drawn to
these teachings like a bee on the honey.
Everything made sense. I knew since then that
through meditation and these teachings I would be
able to experience who I really am more and more.
The understanding that human beings have a
divine potential washed over me like a fall of
divine joy. I was so enthusiastic about it, and I am
still now, since all that I have done has given me
permanent joy and peace.
Through these pages I will explain the basics of
true meditation and the secrets to live in
permanent attunement with Divine Spirit.
Meditation will become an organic process within
yourself. It is my personal source of inspiration,
and it gives me clarity out of a chaotic and non-
directional world. It is not escaping, it is about
seeing things clearly by not being dragged here and
there by whimsical circumstances.
It is pure joy. This joy is higher than the joy felt by
human beings when something goes well. It is a joy

8
beyond expectation which is not containable in the
little box of your mind. This joy always brings a
sense of super well-being and safety. I know that
this is the true happiness everyone is looking for.
Through meditation I have been able to
understand that I am not alone as I always feel the
presence of God, Great Masters, Saints and Angels
within me and around me.
I know it can sound absurd to many of you right
now but, for example, it is possible to have an
Angel as a friend. Think about it. If you live in this
world, in a specific city, your friends will be usually
located there. However, if you live in your Spirit, it
will come a time when you will have both friends
in the physical and in the Spiritual world. If you
don't live in a physical location only, but you can
contact higher realms through the tool of
meditation, it is quite possible that your ability to
communicate will expand beyond the physical.
Let's keep in our mind that for everyone is
different. For many years I did not have
astonishing results except for peace, joy and clarity
upon my direction of life (which are incredibly
good things to have nowadays). I have been asking
myself if what I was doing had a real solid basis.
My personal answer to this was: "OK, even if it's
not true, I know I will live happily, as a matter of
fact this is giving me all the happiness and
inspiration I want, even though I cannot
understand how". After that, I started to see and
remember all the obvious coincidences and little

9
miracles that happened in my life and in that of
others, soon I knew that my doubt was only my
limited vision.
Your vision will expand, give yourself a chance.
The techniques are scientific and, when practiced
regularly with the intention to come in reliable
contact the Highest Possible Truth, they will give
tangible results. They cannot fail.
I wish you the greatest Joy and the best results
with this book. May the presence of God shine
bright within you.

10
MEDITATION:
WHAT IT IS AND THE 8
ASPECTS OF GOD

M editation is not achieving a state which is far

away from your reality, but it is about
establishing yourself in your true nature. It is the
key to come back to the true essence of yourself at
will. Imagine having a doorway to happiness that
you can pass at any time. Through meditation you
can pass that door and, by tasting inner joy more
and more, joy becomes permanent.
Meditation is not a passive state, on the contrary, it
is very dynamic. Better to say it's dynamic, pure
awareness when all of your physical senses are
directed inward, inside yourself, instead of outward
towards the world. This inward flow brings you up,
in contact with pure Joy and Love. Yes, it can also
be defined as a conscious passivity at some
beginning stage, since there is some sort of passage
to that state at times, but it's never complete
passivity or absent mindedness.
Meditation is deep absorption in God, in pure
energy, in divine light or in another aspect of God.
There are eight aspects of God: Peace, Calmness,
Sound, Light, Joy, Power, Love, and Wisdom.

11
Peace is the absence of all conflicts, where
everything is at ease and at balance.
Calmness is a more dynamic aspect, even though
it could apparently seem similar to peace, it is in
truth very different. In calmness there is
movement or some sort of action going on. The
movement I am talking about is a movement in
consciousness, in calmness we can clearly see and
understand the cycles of life.
Sound is the vibration of God which is Omni-
pervading. It is everywhere, and it relates to all
different objects and forms in creation. Every
sound we hear can trace us back to the Infinite
Source if we could listen deeply to its subtle
resonances.
Light is the true dynamic essence of all atoms of
creation, all that is created and alive has a process
within it which produces light. Light has
intelligence, and it's literally alive in itself, it is
organically related to the evolution of the Soul. We
can see the Light as as soon as our mind becomes
more clear. Clarity of mind comes when we take
away some of the veils that darken our sight of the
Divine. The more we meditate, the more we
penetrate through these veils and get in touch with
the Light. This Light is God made visible within
ourselves reflected in us as well as in all creation.
Then we have Joy, which is the eternal bliss that
literally takes our breath away. This Joy is beyond
duality (beyond the interchanging activity of
opposite worldly phenomena like good and bad,

12
day and night, etc... See the chapter "Point Zero:
Non-Duality") and does not have repercussions.
For example, after having had fun at night, the day
after we usually experience a repercussion and feel
exhausted. This does not happen with pure Joy,
which is ever new and regenerating. It is the dance
of life itself. This is the true happiness we are all
looking for.
Power is an immense dynamic energy. When you
experience Power you feel that your will is
connected with the forces of nature and every one
of your single thoughts or intentions can cause
massive consequences. Imagine the power that
God needs to sustain the whole universe. When
you get in touch with such Power start praying for
the good of all people. Anything you do when you
act and think from this level has powerful
repercussions and it comes back to you, therefore
send loving prayer and thoughts to all creation.
This is an important point, because the experience
of power can be easily brought in the world of
action after meditation. However, don't worry too
much about it, just know that this fantastic and
divine Power is part of you by nature and, sooner
or later, you will get in touch with it.
The we come to Love. Love is the infinite
sustaining presence that keeps us tied together.
Love is the attracting force upon which we
exercise amazing magnetism. This Love is purely
unconditional and unselfish because it includes
everyone, everything, and it is everywhere. It is the

13
true abundance of all things. In what you love you
have your abundance. Don't look at who or what
you love, just make a self-analysis upon yourself
and see what that person or the object of your love
means to you. Look at what are the symbols
involved. The circumstances and people in our
lives are but symbols of our true inner condition.
You already have the Keys in your life to perfectly
understand whatever is needed to be understood.
I always suggest to take what you love in your life
and go deep into it until you find the truth of it,
and you will have contacted the Source, God
behind it. It can be anything, even the love for
science to a skeptical. When you get right to the
center of what you love you get in touch with the
greater Intelligence behind it, its Wisdom.
As you see, all the eight aspects are strictly related,
one of them puts you in contact with another, and
then another. Another easy connection to make is,
for example, that of Light with vibration, Sound.
As a matter of fact, even colors have different rates
of vibration.
Then we have Wisdom. Wisdom is the ability see
things clearly as they are, without filters of the
intellect. It does not come from intellectual
speculation, but it's a knowledge acquired through
intuition, which is direct perception of knowledge
which comes through contact with the Source,
God. It is this intuitive sparkle that usually
generates a chain of creative and new realizations
in our minds until we get a conscious clear view

14
upon something. For Wisdom to be involved you
just need more and more acquaintance with who
you are and your true divine nature as a son of
God.

In order to experience these aspects of God, which

are also aspects of your true nature, you need a
technique, and this is the meditation technique. To
achieve your natural state of meditation,
absorption in one or more of these aspects, you
need a meditation technique.
You might ask: "if we are talking about my true
nature, why do I need a technique to be who I
am?". Well, you might better ask yourself this
question too: "if we are talking about my true
nature and the happiness which is mine by my
divine birthright, why am I not living it? Why my
life is not the reflection of pure happiness?
Furthermore, why there is always something
missing?". You see, part of the truth of life and its
rules, is that we need to make the effort to live at
our divine potential, this is the law of freewill and
the only real choice we are to make in this life is
whether we would go toward darkness or toward
the light.
Think about it, how many things do you do during
the day that you know will have unpleasant
consequences or make your life stagnant? How
many times do you try to escape from yourself by
indulging in your old habits more and more, or by
trying to avoid or manipulate them? How many

15
similar choices do you make that give to your heart
another opportunity to close down? By all these
choices you are exercising your free will in
choosing to go toward darkness, even if it could
not be your intention. Therefore, why not
consciously choose to go toward the light with the
direct intention of reestablishing yourself in your
noble and divine nature? Your genuine intention
plus a scientific technique make your choice so
powerful that you cannot miss happiness. Sooner
or later it will be manifest in your life and, at some
point, it will not go away anymore.
The technique of meditation is scientific, which
means that its result is guaranteed if you persist in
it. And the best news is: it's easy.

16
POINT ZERO: NON-DUALITY

T o realize and fully live by your true nature, you

need to break the inner and outer cycles that
are making your life miserable or, in the best case,
difficult.
In this chapter we'll talk about something which is
fundamental to our understanding of the cycles of
life: duality.
In this world everything is dual, meaning that
everything has its opposite aspect: night and day,
darkness and light, male and female, right and
wrong, good and bad, like and dislike, sadness and
happiness, etc... In the manifested world, these
cycles alternate continuously and need their
opposites to find balance. Being stuck in one part
of the cycle is adopting a strong point of view
upon something, which has, of course, to do only
with a personal perception of life.
In our world we see and consider things through
the eyes of duality. We either sit on one opposite
or the other, even though our placement doesn't
necessarily need to be an extreme one. It is like
having two opposite sides of a scale and every
event, or anything, needs to have a location
between these two opposites in order to be
understood by our mind. In other words, we need

17
to classify it somehow so that we can decide what
to do with it and be in control.
If something it's not so easy to classify, then we
use the intellect in order to find a suitable place for
it between the two opposite poles of the scale.
When we have a totally new experience we
immediately need to classify it. Is it good or bad?
Do I like it or not? etc... As a result, everything in
life has to do with finding an "appropriate" place
in the scale.
Now, once a place in the scale it's found, whether
it's on the good or on the bad side, then it creates
an imbalance. If we classify something and
experience it as "good", then there is an imbalance
on the "bad" side. Here is where the cycles of
nature come into play. Nature absolutely needs to
balance both sides of the scale and what happens is
something of opposite nature through which this
balance can be found. Nevertheless, that creates
another imbalance and, yes my friend, this cycle
never ends. That's why it is so difficult, or almost
impossible, to find permanent peace under these
conditions. Needless to say, this is the world we
are living as our own perceived reality every day of
our lives.
This law of the cycles of nature applies to anything,
and it cannot be stopped for any reason, no one
can stop it and it will go on forever.
It is like breathing, after an inhalation there is an
exhalation, it's automatic. If this doesn't happen
you would die within two or three minutes. Your

18
"life-cycle" in this case would stop. Your
experience of this world as you have experienced it
up to the present moment would have come to an
end. A cycle would have come to and end.
However, think about it, did the cycle of nature
stop? No, it didn't, it goes on and on and so will
you. You would finish a cycle to enter a new one.
Everything that has a cycle, like day and night, is
about duality. Duality, with its opposite aspects of
nature, is the "breath of creation" and this breath
cannot be stopped.
Until your mind and perceptions are caught in
duality you are bound to suffer, because you will
never have real control upon your life as well as
yourself. You will have the feeling to be dragged
from one side to another. One day happiness and
the next one sadness, and so forth.
So, how can you stop this cycle and be free? This
is where meditation comes in. But let's not rush,
since everything is about to be explained here.

You have duality within you, starting from all your

contradictory thoughts and behaviors, to your own
very breath. In order to be free from duality you
need to stop at the center of the scale, where you
cannot run to another opposite anymore. This can
sound easy, but its practice is more subtle than you
can probably imagine.
To go from one opposite to the other, there is a
need to pass every single point of the line until it
reaches the other opposite and, in all these points,

19
there is one point which we can call "Zero",
perfect balance, middle, non-duality, nothing or,
more properly said, no-thing. The arrow of your
consciousness passes on that point, staying there
for a tiny moment before going into the other
direction. Before you know it, you are on the
opposite side. If you can be aware of that moment,
it's done, you experience non-duality, a whole "new
dimension" opens up for you. This is the
emptiness that contains everything. Even so, you
cannot get there by using your mind, because the
nature of mind itself is to classify within the
opposite sides of the scale, therefore it will
naturally miss the point (it is the nature of the
mind itself to miss the Point Zero). You need to
get to the Point Zero in a natural way and not by
an intellectual self-induced way. This is what the
meditation technique brings you to accomplish.
Now, even if you are aware of the Point Zero at
the moment you pass it, you are still not free. You
now know where to look in order to find your true
nature but, to be free, you need to be able to stop
there at will for as long as you like.
Now, let's say you get to the Point Zero, will this
stop nature to continue its cycle? No, it won't. But
you, the "experiencer", has happily skipped the
cycle and neutralized it. You are free from it,
completely free. Everything regarding that event,
or that cyclic pattern, will go onto the opposite
side, but not you. There will be no one to

20
experience the direct consequences of that pattern
as its cyclic torture.
Whatever happens in that moment does not create
imbalance anymore in your life, because everything
is seen from the light of perfect accomplishment,
perfect balance and perfect truth. There are no
labels or classifications, there is only being and
pure awareness.
Night and day will continue their cycles, but you
are not locked in the cycle because your perfect
balance cannot be affected, even though you can
experience night and day. Awareness of non-
duality as perfect balance and perfect
accomplishment is what you are, and your nature
now is in perfect harmony with one or more
aspects of God. The Key to be free from duality is
in the breath. The breath is the tool we use to stop
duality in a natural way.
You need to remember, first of all, that your true
nature is beyond the breath. You need to breathe
in order to bring oxygen to the blood so that it can
carry out its work of regenerating the cells of your
body. However, you are much more than your
body. As a matter of fact, during normal activity
and even during sleep, you often forget about your
body and find yourself lost in your thoughts and
mind. Is your mind breathing? No. Does it need
breath to be active? No. Our breath is directly
related to our experience of duality in this world
and, when it naturally finds perfect balance, we
experience our true nature.

21
A monkey breathes very quickly, therefore it has
quite a nervous nature. It cannot stop breathing, it
is caught up in the cycle. Its breathing doesn't
allow pauses to find space for centeredness, and
they perform everything in a rush. Some turtles
breathe very slow and their movement is slow and
calculated. Their lives can be very long since the
perception of time is widely expanded thanks to
the slow pace of their breath. For this reason they
might be a little closer to perceive eternity but,
having no self-conscious awareness, they remain
caught up in the cycle.
When our breath finds perfect balance we tap into
eternity. Through meditation this is possible and
easy to do. It comes easily because eternal
awareness is our nature.
The true experience of God is there when we stop
fighting with duality and join Him at the point
where mother nature has left a door open to the
Point Zero, and that's the point where Her
primordial energy pushes the arrow of the scale in
the two opposite directions. Then we can say: "No,
I can stop now, I don't need to fight in order to
hopefully find balance through opposites anymore.
I am here at the center, perfectly aware".
Everything you have ever looked for is already
there waiting for you to be taken, you can find it in
the eternity of that point called "Zero".

22
RELAXING BODY, MIND AND
SOUL

T he aim of the meditation technique is to bring

your Consciousness in touch with the higher
You in order to establish yourself in your true
Power! But, before explaining in details the
technique, it is really important to learn how to
relax. If your body is tense, part of your energy is
still engaged with the body, or other material
concerns, and is not free to gather inside at your
center in order to uncover your divine dimension
and feel the presence of God. Wherever there is
tension, there is a congestion of energy and that
congestion is like a rock that obstructs the flow in
the river of life. These congestions are present not
only in the body, but in the mind and in the soul
too. A congestion in the mind is caused by
recycling thought forms that limit your visions.
Also, a dispersion of energy happens when your
thoughts travel in random directions without
having a firm focus on any point. A congestion in
the soul is caused by chronic ignorance of your
own true nature and of the existence of God. The
power of your energy cannot fully flow in your
"divine river" because there are obstructions.
Hence the need for relaxation. When you

23
successfully relax, you soften all obstacles in your
body-mind-soul system, making your nature
prevail.

HOW TO RELAX THE BODY

The easiest, quickest and most effective way to
relax the body completely is to breathe in deeply
through the nose while tensing the whole body. As
you inhale, the overall tension must be increased
gradually: low, medium and high. When your body
is completely tensed, hold the breath and the
tension as you start vibrating with your whole body
and feel energy spreading all over every part of it.
After a few seconds, exhale through the mouth
relaxing all your body parts and decreasing the
tension gradually: high, medium and low.
Breathe in while increasing the tension in all parts
of your body: low, medium and high tension. Then
hold the tension and the breath at the same time,
feel the energy pervading all of your being and
vibrate. Finally exhale releasing the tension
gradually: from high, to medium, to low. This
completes one round. Repeat this process from 3
to 6 times, then relax completely. The emphasis of
your attention should be especially on the feeling
of relaxation.

RELAXING BODY, EMOTIONS AND MIND

When I do this exercise I think that each round
expands my relaxation. During the first round, my

24
body relaxes completely. During the second round,
the awareness of my relaxation expands from my
physical body to my emotions and thoughts. I
envision my emotions and thoughts as a second
energetic body around my physical one. During the
third round, my awareness of relaxation expands
further from my body, emotions and thoughts to
the Higher Consciousness reflected in me, as I
have it present in all the Universe. If I practice the
exercise 6 times I dedicate 2 rounds for each
section. This relaxation exercise, along with the
expansive intention described above, is incredibly
powerful and positive results can be immediately
sensed.

THE DOUBLE BREATH

To have better results with this exercise you can
make use of an important aid called the "double
breath". This kind of breath applies to the
inhalation as well as the exhalation. It consists in
inhaling twice through the nose and exhaling twice
through the mouth. The first inhalation is really
short and sharp, immediately followed by the
second inhalation which is deep and long. So it is
with the exhalation: the first one is really short,
immediately followed by a long and complete one.
During the exhalation the sound of "AH" should
be produced with the breath (and not with the
vocal cords). It should sound like "Ah-AAhhhh",
first short and sharp, second long and complete.

25
The double breath increases the power and the
efficiency of the technique, and it should be used
from the very first days. You might practice with
the normal breath at first and then add the double
breath as soon as possible. The double breath is a
fundamental part of the relaxation technique and it
is usually taught right away in the classes. But,
since you are reading a book, you might need to
take one step at a time.

RELAXATION OF EACH BODY PART

Now you can continue to relax your whole body
by checking every body part. Start from the feet
and scan every single part of your body while
chanting Aum (many people write Om instead of
Aum) 3 times in every part. Aum is the cosmic
sound which is at the basis of all creation. This
beautiful, rejuvenating sound can be heard when
meditation is deep enough. It is OK to relax the
body parts in couples, since the human body is
symmetric. The body parts are: feet, calves, thighs,
buttocks, lower abdomen, middle abdomen, chest,
back (divided in three parts: lower, middle and
upper back), hands, arms, forearms, neck (divided
in four parts: front, back, left and right), face and
head.
Chant Aum 3 times at any of these body parts (or
couples) as you go through them with your
awareness, feeling a sense of super-divine
relaxation pervading your whole being. If you wish
to relax every single part of the body separately,

26
then start with the right side and then go to the
left: right foot, left foot, etc...

AUTOSUGGESTION
You can use autosuggestion as you go through the
scanning of your body, and don't worry if you
don't remember all the body parts, just start from
your feet and go up until you end up with your
head, and you'll be fine.
To use auto-suggestion is easy: when you are at a
body part, for example your feet, mentally say: "I
relax my feet, I relax my feet, my feet are relaxed".
Continue to do so at every part of your body. Then
proceed to relax your internal organs: kidneys,
liver, intestine, pancreas, heart and brain (or any
other part you can think of). It is important to note
that autosuggestion is the only way through which
we can relax our internal organs. Of course we can
also do it through meditation itself, or by yoga
postures, and the tense and release exercise is really
valuable for this. Through autosuggestion, anyway,
we act internally by giving a command through our
will power. We just express the intention to relax
completely until it happens.
Through our intention and will power we can tense
and relax each muscle until we feel a rejuvenating
energy flowing there. When this happens, we are
gradually developing the great divine power of
manifesting whatever we want in our lives. Let's
remember that these techniques, even though
simple, have been taught by Great Masters, and the

27
results are guaranteed if you continue to practice
them regularly and at the best of your abilities.
Through autosuggestion you can relax your mind
as well. Say to yourself: "I relax my mind, I relax
my mind, my mind is completely relaxed" and, as
you do this, visualize a waveless lake at night upon
which you can see a perfect and waveless reflection
of the moon. This visualization has a powerful
calming effect on the mind. The waves of your
inner emotions and thoughts are stilled as you
perfectly reflect the light of your inner self.

Through these simple relaxation techniques, you

will soon be able to relax at will, in any situation
you may find yourself and, more important, you
will be ready to meditate more deeply. Your
meditation technique will give much greater
results.
Now we come to another important question: how
can you relax your Soul?
Meditation is the tool to use to achieve complete
and perfect relaxation of the Soul. This kind of
relaxation is possible only in perfect balance, and
this only happens when you relax in your divine
Self.
Again, meditation is a joyful and scientific process.
Start meditating with a loving intention, and you
will find your heart shining with love and your
mind illuminated with uplifting wisdom.

28
THE MEDITATION
TECHNIQUE

N ow we come to the meditation technique.

Through this technique you will strengthen
your mind incredibly. The power of your
concentration will consistently improve and you
will gain the ability to hold your attention upon
anything.
When your heart is directed toward God, you will
hold Him in your consciousness so strongly that
your divine Self will inevitably manifest. If you
meditate with the aspiration to manifest your
higher and divine Truth you will achieve the best
results.
Love is a powerful key. If you feel great love for
something (it could be anything: a person, your
job, your ideals, your passions, etc...), and you
meditate with the intention to reveal the highest
Truth behind of that which you love, you will
touch the divine source. The ray of that Love
manifested into the object of your love; you are
tracing back to the source.
So, have a loving attitude as much as possible but,
no matter what, meditate. You don't need to have
any idea of what is required or how it could be to

29
trace back to the source. Just meditate and things
will be revealed to you.
Now, after having said that, meditate without
expectations! Just meditate to enjoy the process of
getting in touch with yourself. No matter how
much it can be scary at the beginning, it will
eventually turn out to be a great experience, filled
with joy and peace.
After having practiced the relaxation techniques,
finally relax in the right posture for meditation. For
such posture, two factors are essential:
1) The spine straight and
2) The muscles relaxed.

If you sit on a chair don't lean on the back of it.

Leave your spine free from any obstruction.
Sit with your spine straight, feet parallel on the
floor. Relax your hands with your palms turned
upwards at the junction between your thighs and
abdomen. Shoulder blades almost touch as they are
turned back while you gently open your heart and
chest to the sky. Your chin is parallel to the floor.
You can also sit crossed legged if you like, but be
sure that your body is comfortable so that its
muscles can be completely relaxed, and you can
keep the spine straight for all the length of the
meditation.

THE TRINAGULAR BREATH

Now you are ready to practice some easy breathing
technique. Here you will be asked to hold the

30
breath at the point between the eyebrows. This is
where your spiritual or single eye can be found. It
is the ajna chakra, as it is called in yoga. When this
eye is energized, spiritualized and open, you are in
direct touch with higher guidance and wisdom.
Through the Joy generated by conscious
connection with the single eye, you can see and
know the Truth upon the nature of anything as
well as experience the higher you. This breathing
exercise is called the "triangular breath", as it is
composed of three phases of equal duration.
Inhale through the nose for 12 counts, hold the
breath while focusing at the point between the
eyebrows for 12 counts, and exhale through the
nose counting 12. There is no holding of the
breath when your lungs are empty. This will cause
your whole system to have an increase of energy in
the most relaxed way. Repeat from 6 to 12 times.
Breathe in and out through the nose only. You can
change the number of counts by making your
breath shorter or longer according to your actual
lungs capacity. This breathing technique is the first
stage that teaches you how to direct all your energy
towards the higher center of consciousness at will,
physically located at the point between the
eyebrows.

THE SWITCH
Now, inhale deeply through the nose and exhale
through the mouth with a triple exhalation: "Ah-
Ah- Ahhhh". Similarly to the double breath, the

31
first two exhalations are short and the last one is
long and complete. This triple breath has a certain
spiritual power and it works as a signal to start the
meditation technique, it is a switch. After some
time you will find yourself drawn naturally in a
meditative mood after having performed this
breath.

THE HONG SAU TECHNIQUE

Here is the actual meditation technique. Take these
3 steps to bring you to the full practice.
1- Bring gently your awareness at the point
between the eyebrows with the next inhalation,
and stay there as if you would want to penetrate
this point deeply. Don't try to control the breath
anymore, just focus deeply at that point. As you do
this, don't strain your eyes or put an effort, but do
it naturally. Your one-pointed concentration is a
natural process. When you become sure about
holding this point as if you would want to
penetrate it, go on to step 2.
2- Start observing your breath coming in and out
as it wants to. Don't control the breath at all, but
let it come in and out naturally while you observe
it. When you are sure about the first two steps
being active at the same time, proceed to step 3.
3- It is time to add sounds to your practice. When
the breath comes naturally in, think mentally
HONG (as in "song") and when the breath goes
naturally out think mentally SAU (as in "law"). The
breath comes in and out on its own accord. Just

32
think these sounds. Don't do anything with your
tongue, throat or jaw, they're only mental sounds.
This is what they mean: "I = Hong" and "He -
Sau". The repetition of this sounds can be
translated like "I am He", or "I offer myself into
He". He is intended to be God, your higher Self,
your divine Being, or the highest Truth you can
come in contact with.

By practicing this technique you will notice that, in

time, the breath will become short and the pauses
within one breath and the other will increase in
length. When this happens, relax and enjoy those
moments of freedom. Through this technique we
are balancing all our system as we are consistently
reducing the swinging between the two opposites
of the scale. We come closer to the Point Zero, the
point of perfect balance beyond duality. Breath is
not life, but it is necessary to our physical body to
bring oxygen to the blood. During this meditation
technique we learn how to bring purifying energy
to our physical system and shift our consciousness
from the limitations of the body to the limitless
Soul. Don't force yourself into a state of non-
breathing. It needs to come naturally as it is not a
self-induced state, but a natural and divine way of
living as pure being. Just relax and enjoy the
technique.
Meditate as long as it remains a joyful process, try
not to overcome the limit of what you can bear at
the present time. If you are really comfortable in it,

33
then you can meditate for a long time. Usually we
all know our limits, we feel them. If you know that
meditating even one minute longer will make you
nervous, then stop before, right at the moment
when it is still joyful. Start with short periods and
let the length of your meditation increase naturally
as your joy increases.

After you have meditated for some time (let's say

ten or fifteen minutes for the beginner), end the
practice in the same way you started it: with the
triple breath . Inhale deeply through the nose and
exhale through the mouth: "Ah-Ah- Ahhhh".
Now, remain still without breath (with your lungs
empty, also known as "empty chalice") and focus
your attention deeply at the point between the
eyebrows for as long as you comfortably can.
Repeat this process twice more (3 in total). It is
important to hold your attention at the point
between the eyebrows at this moment, so that your
awareness can be lifted up there after the practice;
the seat of your higher consciousness, true wisdom
and great joy.

At this time you can forget about all techniques.

Gently focus at the point between the eyebrows
and relax completely. Remain in silence and enjoy
the after- effects of meditation from five to ten
minutes approximately. This moment, which
comes right after the practice of the technique, is
really important. After having prepared yourself

34
through the meditation technique, this is when you
can deeply experience divine Love, Peace and Joy.
At this moment, your chance to enter a deep
meditative experience is high, and you can find
yourself absorbed in one of the eight aspects of
God. Surrender yourself to this magical moment.
Not holding on to the after- effects of the practice
is like cooking a delicious meal and then throw it
away. Relax more and more in the Peace that
comes after the technique.
This is also a right time to express your own love
and offer it to God. Through the deep Calmness
of your mind you can feel His response more
easily. You can also ask questions upon something
and receive the answers. Deep Calmness makes all
answers possible to be heard. In this moment
everything becomes clear and Wisdom manifests.

After having enjoyed the after- effects of

meditation, it is the right time to send some
positive prayer or thoughts to the world, to
someone you love, to someone in need or to a
difficult situation that requires to be turned into a
positive experience. By sharing your blessings with
others, you are blessed more and more.

Finally, come back to your daily life putting into

action all that you have received through
meditation. All the guidance and clarification that
you now have can be knowingly applied in your
everyday life. I have personally experienced that

35
this is something that requires a lot of courage
sometimes. Be courageous! You will see that you
can bring positive changes in your life if you put
into practice the suggestions that you have
received in meditation.
May you be blessed.

36
MAGNETIC ADVISES

I f you want to have even greater results from

your practice, you can also get some further
advice from the ancient sages.

Sit facing east, or north. There are some certain

spiritual magnetic currents that come, especially
from the east. I am not referring to eastern
countries, but the direction or, if you prefer, that
specific polarity. These subtle magnetic energies
are in constant movement and they help you to
raise your consciousness. The sun rises from the
east. Once I was extremely tired after a long and
exhausting trip, but I made it a point to wake up
early to meditate. Even if I couldn't sleep more
than 2 hours, I woke up and started to meditate
facing east. As the sun started to rise, I was
energized as never before. My body was so tired to
the point that it couldn't hold any tension and, at
the same time, I was there awake and ready for
meditation. I was open enough to let that immense
energy come and operate within me. The sunrise
energy, coming from the east, uplifted my being in
some divine way.
Another instruction the sages gave is to cover your
meditation chair with a woolen blanket. This will
keep you insulated from other certain magnetic
37
energies that are binding you to the earth. We are
not talking about gravity but of a subtle force that
pushes your energy downward instead of letting it
flow upward in joyful upliftment. This blanket
should be placed under your feet, and cover your
meditation chair completely, including the back.
There are certain hours which are considered to be
better for the practice of meditation. The best
times are early in the morning when the sun rises
(as previously explained), in the evening when the
sun dawns, at midday and at midnight. At these
moments there is something shifting in the
atmosphere, and it is easier for he who meditates
to transcend duality and get to the Point Zero.
These specific shifting times are comparable to the
instant when the arrow of the scale shifts from the
Point Zero in order to move onto the opposite
side of the scale. The mind can be easily by-passed,
and it is possible to experience transcendence.
Also, your meditation is supported if practiced
always at the same time, whatever time it is. After a
while, you will feel yourself drawn to a meditative
state as that time comes.

If none of these further advises can be applied,

then just meditate anywhere at any time. Better to
look for a place where you know you are not going
to be disturbed. However, it is important to
gradually develop an intimate relationship with
your practice so that it can be done at any
moment. If you start believing that you can't

38
meditate because it's not sunrise and you don't
have a woolen blanket, then you will never
meditate. If you can apply these advises every time
you meditate, much better, but if you can't, know
that you can realize your true nature with or
without a blanket! You are "You" all the time,
everywhere, in all circumstances and at any time.

39
HOW TO HELP SPIRIT TO
HEAL

L et's talk about how you can use meditation for

spiritual healing.
If we understand our emotions and ideas as
energies, or as energy based, we can help
emotional healing by increasing our intake of
positive energy. In this way, we replace an old
energetic pattern that doesn't serve us anymore
and is creating blocks.
The medulla oblongata is the main point through
which the energy enters in our system. It is located
at the junction of the neck with the skull in the
back of the head. The Great Master Paramhansa
Yogananda used to say that this point is "the
mouth of God" Jesus talked about in the New
Testament.. At the time of conception, in the
mother's womb, the human body begins to take
form starting from this point. This point is the
entrance of the primordial universal energy, and we
can learn to make use of it consciously in order to
fill our body with power.
Just think to open "the mouth of God" by
imagining a real mouth opening at that point, or
you may visualize a ring of light expanding. As you
do this, relax your throat and breathe in. Feel the

40
energy running down your spine. Breathe in and
out several times and feel your body filled with
universal force always more. As you continue, the
energy expands up to your brain and all around
you. Now you are in touch with a part of yourself
that you are usually not aware of. Be respectful and
loving toward who you are.
Now, gently, think of the kind of energy you need
to attract so that you can fill yourself with it. It
could be love, joy, enthusiasm, peace, or any other
of the eight aspects of God. Try to be clear about
what you want to replace with this new positive
energy. For example, you may want to replace
sadness with joy. If you want to change a negative
emotional state, it is good to choose the opposite
positive. But, most important, replace the negative
with something that inspires you.
I love to refer to the Saint Francis prayer when I
practice healing, either for me or for someone else.
When I do it for someone else, the technique
doesn't change at all, but all the healing is directed
toward the specific person. I just keep that person
in my mind's eye (or single eye, the point between
the eyebrows) and practice the technique
visualizing, thinking and feeling that that person is
receiving the benefits of this practice. There is no
need to put excessive efforts in this practice, but
just to relax with awareness in the accomplishment
of the healing.
After I feel myself filled with this energy, I decide
whether to use the sounds HONG SAU or not.

41
The transference of the breath is the transference
of vital energy. The technique works very well after
meditation because our system is completely
recharged in the most positive way, but it can be
done at any moment.
Here is the Saint Francis prayer. Every time I have
used this prayer, alone or with the healing
technique, great joy and peace have manifested.

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;

where there is hatred, I may bring love;
where there is injury, I may bring
forgiveness;
where there is discord, I may bring
harmony;
where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
where there is error, I may bring truth;
where there is despair, I may bring hope;
where there is sadness, I may bring joy;
where there is darkness, I may bring light;
Oh Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be
comforted as to comfort;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that one receives,
it is by forgiving that one is forgiven,

42
it is by dying that one awakens to Eternal
Life.

When I use this prayer for healing, my focus is

always on the positive: I focus on love when I
think to replace hatred with love; I focus on
harmony when I think to replace discord; and so
on.
I interpret "dying", at the last sentence, as the
equivalent of going beyond duality, where your
eternal divine nature can be perceived and fully
lived. It is beyond death, but it is not necessarily
referred to physical death but rather to the death
of the ego (that part of our soul-consciousness
identified with our body and limitations).
Your healing reference can expand beyond this
miraculous prayer. Follow your inspiration as you
find new positive words. If there is a sense of
peaceful upliftment and expansion, follow that
sense.
Reciting this prayer for yourself and others, or for
the whole world, is a great blessing. It pays to try,
it can be a transforming experience.

YOGA HEALING TECHNIQUE

Another healing technique includes prayer,
visualization and the use of your hands. Visualize
who you want to heal at the point between the
eyebrows. Imagine him (or her) pervaded with
divine light, then offer a prayer to God: "Dear
God, Thy divine light is omnipresent, and it is in
43
.... (say the name of the person), manifest Thy
healing presence in his/her body, mind and soul".
Now rub your hands around 20 times until you
feel the warmth pervading your palms and fingers,
then place your hands in front of you, palms
directed forward, as you would send energy out
from them to the person you wish to heal. Sing
"Aum" 3 times while visualizing the person filled
with healing light at the point between the
eyebrows. Remain silent, and continue to send
healing energy to the person for as long as you feel
it necessary. When you have finished, relax your
hands on your lap and remain with your eyes
closed, feeling the same blessings you sent out in
the form of divine energy flowing through you and
in you. What you have given out you are now
receiving. Absorb these blessings with gratitude
and appreciation. If you need healing in some parts
of your body, you can place your hands on those
parts. The choice if to touch that part or not is
completely up to you.
You can make the starting prayer longer or go into
specific requests. Practicing this technique in
groups is very powerful, "when two or more
people are gathered in my name, I am with them"
said Jesus.
We need to remember that when we talk about
Jesus we refer to him as a Great Master, and the
same is for Buddha or Krishna. We are all reaching
to the same divine nature which is the true being in
everyone, and it is manifested as everyone. God

44
didn't have preferences in creating one all
accomplishing Son in spite of all the others who
need to sweat out every single minute of their
existence in order to gain His favors. Jesus along
with his divinity demonstrated a great humanity.
He's the mirror of our pure potential. The
difference between you and a great master like
Jesus is that Jesus is awake in God and you are
sleeping in your ego. Jesus himself prayed that we
could be one as he and his Father were one. This
means that he hoped we could all awaken in God.
Buddha realized that oneness becomes obvious as
one goes beyond duality. Every perception, at that
point, is realized as part of the greatest
Consciousness, never separated from anything, but
one with all. Jesus realized the same Truth when he
said "Me and my Father are One". The belief some
people have to be separated from God is
nonsense, since nothing can have an independent
nature out of God.
This is the power that flows through you during
these healing techniques, it is your own natural
power as your awareness awakens in your true
divine nature.

45
HIGHWAYS TO EXPANSION

G reat Masters have practiced meditation until

the experience of oneness with all beings and
universal forces has become permanent. The Point
Zero is lived as the true nature of man, with
complete freedom to experience any reality within
the whole range of the two opposites while having
a perfect self-balanced awareness. The true human
potential is to have flawless balance and harmony.
Many of these Great Masters have decided to assist
others in realizing this oneness, and have taught
scientific methods through which one can increase
gradually the experience of his own true Self.
The Great Master Paramhansa Yogananda
describes the experience of oneness through his
poem " Samadhi" in his book "Autobiography of a
Yogi". Samadhi is the highest, ecstatic state of
union with God where man's consciousness
merges with Universal Consciousness.

Behind the words of this poem, there is the actual

experience of oneness with the universe and, by
meditating upon it, it is easy to trace back to the
Source of the experience. Take one sentence at a
time and, exactly as you did with the healing
technique, bring your attention to the sentence.
Don't try to understand the meaning of the
46
sentence intellectually. Let your natural divine
being residing within you resonate with it
intuitively. Firs read the sentence, then let yourself
perceive the consciousness behind it as the energy
flows in through the breathing process. Stay at
each sentence for as long as you like. You can even
meditate on one sentence alone for all the duration
of your practice.
This poem is a portal toward a higher
consciousness and brings you in touch with the
highest Truth. It is the vehicle our consciousness
needs to resonate with the Cosmos and reveal
what is true. By resonating with the consciousness
behind this poem, try to merge in the divine nature
which gradually reveals as you go deeper. By
attuning yourself more with this consciousness,
your chances to experience the same oneness
become much higher.

Vanished the veils of light and shade,

Lifted every vapor of sorrow,
Sailed away all dawns of fleeting joy,
Gone the dim sensory mirage.
Love, hate, health, disease, life, death,
Perished these false shadows on the screen of
duality.
Waves of laughter, scyllas of sarcasm,
melancholic whirlpools,
Melting in the vast sea of bliss.
The storm of maya stilled

47
By magic wand of intuition deep.
The universe, forgotten dream, subconsciously
lurks,
Ready to invade my newly-wakened memory
divine.
I live without the cosmic shadow,
But it is not, bereft of me;
As the sea exists without the waves,
But they breathe not without the sea.
Dreams, wakings, states of deep turia sleep,
Present, past, future, no more for me,
But ever-present, all-flowing I, I, everywhere.
Planets, stars, stardust, earth,
Volcanic bursts of doomsday cataclysms,
Creation’s molding furnace,
Glaciers of silent x-rays, burning electron floods,
Thoughts of all men, past, present, to come,
Every blade of grass, myself, mankind,
Each particle of universal dust,
Anger, greed, good, bad, salvation, lust,
I swallowed, transmuted all
Into a vast ocean of blood of my own one Being!
Smoldering joy, oft-puffed by meditation
Blinding my tearful eyes,
Burst into immortal flames of bliss,
Consumed my tears, my frame, my all.
Thou art I, I am Thou,
Knowing, Knower, Known, as One!

48
Tranquilled, unbroken thrill, eternally living,
ever-new peace!
Enjoyable beyond imagination of expectancy,
samadhi bliss!
Not an unconscious state
Or mental chloroform without wilful return,
Samadhi but extends my conscious realm
Beyond limits of the mortal frame
To farthest boundary of eternity
Where I, the Cosmic Sea,
Watch the little ego floating in Me.
The sparrow, each grain of sand, fall not without
My sight.
All space floats like an iceberg in My mental sea.
Colossal Container, I, of all things made.
By deeper, longer, thirsty, guru-given
meditation
Comes this celestial samadhi.
Mobile murmurs of atoms are heard,
The dark earth, mountains, vales, lo! molten
liquid!
Flowing seas change into vapors of nebulae!
Aum blows upon vapors, opening wondrously
their veils,
Oceans stand revealed, shining electrons,
Till, at last sound of the cosmic drum,
Vanish the grosser lights into eternal rays
Of all-pervading bliss.

49
From joy I came, for joy I live, in sacred joy I
melt.
Ocean of mind, I drink all creation’s waves.
Four veils of solid, liquid, vapor, light,
Lift aright.
Myself, in everything, enters the Great Myself.
Gone forever, fitful, flickering shadows of
mortal memory.
Spotless is my mental sky, below, ahead, and
high above.
Eternity and I, one united ray.
A tiny bubble of laughter, I
Am become the Sea of Mirth Itself.

Again, allow me to repeat that the technique here

is the same as the healing technique, but instead of
breathing in the positive energy that you need,
allow yourself to breathe in the divine
consciousness behind these words.
If, during the practice of the Hong Sau meditation
it happens that you stop breathing naturally, just
relax in the Joy that comes through that
Consciousness, and so do as you meditate with this
poem.
Remember! Keep all your meditation practices
intimate and personal. You need to establish a
direct and personal contact with yourself and your
divine Source. Don't waste energy making it a
group experience where everybody conforms to
the point that it becomes a dogma with no inner
50
experience. We need unity in the world, but not
uniformity. You can meditate in groups of course,
and it can be a powerful experience, but never let
the group take the upper hand upon your intimate
perception of the divine. Sometimes spirituality has
been converted into a set of social and moral rules
that little have to do with real understanding and
experience of God. When too many people are
involved and discuss about how a spiritual
experience should be, this is at the expense of real
spirituality which takes place in the individual.
Beware!

51
FURTHER STEPS TO
EXPANSION

T here are different centers of consciousness

within you, the information stored within
them relates directly to how you see and perceive
life. Meditating upon their essence is a great aid in
the expansion of your consciousness. These
centers are well evolved in all human beings, and
their usage can be almost limitless.

HEART CENTER
After the practice of the main meditation
technique, focus on your heart and penetrate to its
center until you can clearly perceive its essence and
nature. Then feel that your heart is at one with all
hearts. Dip into this more and more until you
perceive that all your feelings, your essence, your
struggles and your joy are at one with all hearts
everywhere.

ESSENCE OF MIND
This technique is similar to the Heart Center
technique, but this time the focus is on your mind.
Maybe you want to bring your attention inside
your head if you need a physical location, but do it
gently. Of course we are not focusing on the

52
physical matter of our head but on the
consciousness held in our minds. Thinking as the
mind looking at itself can be helpful. Perceive the
essence of your mind and expand this perception
until you feel that your mind is united with all
minds. Continue to do this until you feel that your
mind is at one with the mind and intelligence of
the Universe, which includes all beings and
everything in creation.

After you have perceived this unity in your heart

and mind, then you can proceed to the next
meditation.

EQUANIMITY OF HEARTS AND MINDS

By understanding (or by experiencing) that the
same Heart and the same Mind is in everyone,
bring to your attention a person you love. Feel
how your heart and mind are the same as his, or
hers. Then transfer your attention to someone you
hate, or you just have had problems with, and feel
again your hearts and minds as the same. See that
there is no difference. The same consciousness, the
same God is present in both of you.
If this is still difficult to do, then bring back the
person you love and merge yourself into the nice
feeling which is present in that relationship, then
let go of the person you love and transfer this
same love to the other one. Repeat this process
many times until you feel that all hearts and minds

53
are equally blissful and filled with love. See God in
everyone.

Continue to expand your consciousness in your

everyday living.

SELF HELP THROUGH UNSELFIH HELP

Help yourself by helping someone else. Go out
during your ordinary day and, by realizing that your
mind and heart are at one with everyone, actively
help someone in any way you can. Since your
hearts and minds are united, you are actually
helping yourself and at the same time expanding
your being. You can anything you think necessary,
but better do something that might relieve their
heart from worries and stress and make them relax.
When the heart is completely relaxed we are close
to perceive divine Joy. As I said, think that you are
really helping yourself through that person. By
doing this, a veil of separation between you and
the Universe breaks and fall down.

THE ESSENCE OF LIGHT

When you walk during the day, notice everything
which is permeated with light. It can be the sun
itself or its reflection on any surface. It can also be
any other kind of light. Look at it for a few
seconds (but don't look directly at the sun), then
close your eyes and visualize that light at the point
between the eyebrows. If it's difficult to locate it
there, then just close your eyes and feel yourself

54
permeated with that light, get in touch with the
essence. Start seeing Light as naturally present all
around and in you.

ABSORPTION IN THE SOUNDS

Listen intently to the sounds around you, relax into
them until you see them as immediate
manifestations of the awareness of God. At this
point unite your awareness with the sounds you
can perceive. These sounds are you, everything you
can perceive in your awareness is you. Don't make
a story out of the sounds, there's no need to ask
yourself where they are coming from or where they
are going. Just be there in the immediate
manifestation of the sounds and feel them as your
own awareness.

THE NEW EXPANDED BEING

After having perceived this awareness, do anything
you need to do form this expanded perception of
your being. Move, act, talk, walk with the bodies,
actions, voices and feet of all. As you do this, offer
every action back to this higher Awareness, which
is God within you and in everyone.

Make these practices your daily habits. You can

give yourself all the time required to make each
technique establish deeply in yourself, and only at
that point proceed to the next one. No matter how

55
long it will take, it will be incredibly beneficial, and
you will start living by your true divine nature in
everything you do. Come back to any particular
technique at any time you want to.
You are now beginning to remember who you are
and everything is making sense. You are already
living a higher Life, and you are now of benefit to
mankind. Joy to you!

56
THE LIGHT OF LIFE ENERGY

A fter you have been practicing the Hong Sau

meditation technique for some time, you are
ready to practice the more advanced variation of
Hong Sau in the spine. This will make your
meditations more powerful, centered and deep.
None of the techniques given in this book can
have negative repercussions or violent shifts in
your energy system. The variation added in this
chapter is a refinement of the main Hong Sau
technique, and the reason it is taught later is not to
overload the reader with variations since the
beginning.

HONG SAU IN THE SPINE

The technique remains essentially the same, but we
visualize pure light going up and down the spine.
As you inhale and think HONG visualize, imagine
or feel this pure, vital energy moving from the
coccyx to the point between the eyebrows. The
same light-energy goes down the spine, from the
point between the eyebrows to the coccyx, when
you exhale and think SAU.
Think and feel that you have an energetic spine in
correspondence with the physical spine. It goes
straight up from the coccyx to the medulla

57
oblongata, then it passes through the brain and
finally ends up at the point between the eyebrows.

The energetic spine, also called the astral spine, is

the real river of life and enlightenment. This light is
a powerful cleanser of all obstructions to the
perception of your true nature. When the
awareness of this life energy has been brought up
permanently to the brain, there is enlightenment.
When all the energy has been brought up to the
point between the eyebrows (the spiritual eye )
there is a door opening to Infinite Consciousness,
your true origin and nature. This is a gradual,
natural process, it is the establishment in the
essence of your own true being.
Between the coccyx and the spiritual eye, is present
every aspect of your consciousness, the spiritual
eye being the seat of your higher wisdom and
intuition, and the coccyx being the seat of lower
limitations, but also the center where divine life
energy starts to rise. Every aspect of our
personality and of our experience of life is present
in the river of life which flows from the coccyx to
the point between the eyebrows.
By practicing Hong Sau in the spine, the life energy
of the human being does not get dissipated or
wasted in the outer world of duality, but it is
brought back into the center, the Point Zero, and
directed up through the brain to the point between
the eyebrows, where it is possible to unite with the
Highest Wisdom.

58
The technique is so simple that it seems impossible
that it is doing all this, but yes, it is doing it! Why
should it be difficult? Living in your own true
nature cannot be difficult, you already are that, you
don't have to become it. You just to be always
more aware as you establish yourself in your divine
nature.
Practice this technique in the most natural possible
way. Just know that this is happening and let it
happen. Observe it, don't be intellectually fussy on
how the energy is really moving, or if it is moving
correctly. It just happens, that's all.

TRIANGULAR BREATHING WITH

VISUALIZATION
You can also use the visualization of light-energy
in the spine with other techniques.
For example, the triangular breathing exercise
practiced at the beginning of each meditation can
improve if you think of the energy going up and
down along with the inhalation and exhalation. As
you count mentally 12 during the inhalation think
the energy rising up to the point between the
eyebrows, then hold the energy there for 12 counts
and let it descend again to the coccyx as you exhale
for 12 counts.
Through this technique you learn to direct your life
energy at will, so that it can be withdrawn at the
center of your spine and brought up at the higher
centers of your consciousness, where you
experience higher wisdom and enlightenment.

59
ATTENTION AT THE BACK OF THE SPINE
Having your attention to the back of the spine,
when practicing these techniques, is a valuable help
too. I have seen through the years that it is really
useful. A devotional state manifests spontaneously,
and you find yourself centered.

Hong Sau in the spine will become soon a state of

being. In other words, there will be no "states" to
hold on anymore, but only being.

IN RESONANCE WITH THE
ASPECTS OF GOD

A long with the meditations for expansion

described in the previous chapters, you can
also use the following suggestions to bring
awareness of Spirit in your daily life, in all the
actions you perform.
We have talked about the 8 aspects of God: Peace,
Calmness, Sound, Light, Joy, Power, Love and
Wisdom. Anything you experience in this life, or
you want to experience, can be traced back to one
or more of these aspects. For example, an actor
might be looking for the experience of Light,
which he confuses with the thrilling feeling of
being on stage, so that he can be appreciated and
therefore be loved, which is the equivalent of
looking for the experience of Love. However, I
need to emphasize that for everyone is different.
Even for people who have similar life experiences,
the true purpose of that experience can be very
different. A business man might be looking for
Power, so that he can feel safe and in control,
therefore experience Peace.
Now give a look at yourself. What is it in your life
that you are doing? Whatever it might be, you are
certainly trying, consciously or not, to experience

61
one or more of the 8 aspects of God. By doing
some honest self-analysis on your life, which one
of those aspects are you trying to experience?
The answer to this question brings you to the
knowledge of your true temperament.
Never think that your temperament is shown by
the way you externally act in this life, or by the
habits you have. Your true temperament is your
attempt to expand your consciousness through the
aspect, or aspects, of God you are naturally drawn
to.
Once you have looked at yourself through this
angle, then start practicing the following technique
in your everyday life. With this method your true
temperament can easily find resonance with the
energies of the Universe.

RESONATING WITH THE UNIVERSE

If the aspect you are trying to experience in your
life is Power, while you do whatever you are doing
during your daily activities, send a simple thought
to the Universe: "Divine Power". Then remain
silent for some time in an absorbing listening
attitude. Then repeat it again, "Divine Power", and
remain silent again, listening. Go on with this
process, which is a way of communication with the
highest energies of the Universe.
Through this technique you will develop the ability
to express fully that kind of divine energy in your
life.

62
You can also think "Infinite Power" or "Universal
Power" if you wish. Feel free to make a personal
choice about the words that express that divine
Power you would like to experience and melt with.
Remember that your intention has to be to get to
the Source and to resonate with the highest Truth
behind that aspect, everything else can bring you
into a cycle which can make you feel lost, or upon
which you can lose control. By using the word
"Divine" you are sure to invoke only divine
experiences that can be of benefit for everyone
who is involved.
Obviously, you can use the same technique to
invoke the aspects of Love, Joy, Wisdom, or any
other aspect you feel drawn to. In time, this
technique will allow you to hold all your actions as
a reflection of the Universal action, with so much
great energy involved to bear divine and abundant
fruits wherever you turn. Light from Light, Love
from Love, Joy from Joy, Wisdom from Wisdom.

Start by invoking that aspect that reveals your own

temperament, then expand your experience with
the other aspects. Send a natural thought to the
Universe and then remain silent. You will soon feel
your being resonating with a higher reality, relax
into that completely. You will see that you will be
building the castle of true happiness within you,
the world around you will seem very different. You
will see with new eyes and know with new wisdom.

63
You are deepening the contact with who you really
are and your life is expressing the divine always
more. You are a child of the Universe, no matter
what or who you have believed you were. Now
you smile as you look at yourself in your internal
mirror and say: "Here you are my dear, where have
you been for so long? Welcome back, I love you".
