Sketch a graph that exhibits the qualitative features of a function that has been described verbally.

Description  of  how  to  implement  in  the  class:  I  would  have  my  students  examine  and  draw  their  
own  graphs  based  off  of  the  functions  given.  They  will  have  to  show  slope,  y  intercepts,  as  well  as  
whether  it  will  be  positive  or  negative.  The  students  will  have  to  present  this  information  using  the  
board  to  the  rest  of  the  class.  
Level  of  Technology  Implementation  (LoTi):  This  problem  will  allow  students  to  reach  a  level  4  or  
higher  on  the  LoTi  level.  The  students  must  use  the  board  to  present  information  as  well  as  teaching  
the  rest  of  the  class  what  they  know.  
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.? I want the students to be able to use the board
as a tool to show what they know. It will also allow other students to see how their fellow students
work out the problem if they are struggling to understand. I hope to use this activity as a building
block to later standards. It will also allow me to see where the students are at with this section of the
standards. I hope that it will build student’s confidence with presenting as well as with the
information.

Importance of technology: Using an interactive whiteboard is important because it allow students to


become involved. Many students otherwise wouldn’t be able to be involved with the rest of the class and
the teacher. It would be harder as a teacher to assess the students progress with the given information
without this technology. I would like to use SMART Exchange to assist the students with learning, because
it has graphs and other math tools that will help with their assignments.
Reflection: I learned the importance of technology in the classroom. If it is used in a productive way,
then it can enhance the learning of the students and allow for the teacher to keep track of the
progress.
