ABOUT WORKSHOP
This one day seminar aims to acquaint the
young engineers about respected Prime Minister
“Narendra Modi’s ” dream project - 100 Smart
Cities Mission - launched by him on 25th June,
2015 and to create an initiative to participate in
the mission. The engineers could be a tool for
comprehensive development of physical,
Institutional, social and economic infrastructure
which is essential for improving the quality of life
and starting a virtuous cycle of growth and
development.
The core infrastructure elements in a smart city
would include :
(i) Adequate supply of pure drinking water.
It will include smart meters and management ,
quality control of water, leak detection, and
preventive maintenance.
(ii) Sanitation, including solid waste
management, sustainable environment, waste to
energy and fuel, waste to compost, recycling
and reduction of Construction & Demolition
waste.
(iii) Assured electric supply, development of
other sources of energy, energy efficient and
green buildings
(iv) Adequate urban mobility and public
