School can be an intimidating foreign place for young children, and their first experience with school can influence
their perspective on school and learning as a whole. Hence, Lumbini Academy continues to create a vibrant, warm
and fun learning space where students feel safe and comfortable, and learn to enjoy school. We also employ
experienced teachers who are caring, and enthusiastic about teaching and learning themselves.
PRIMARY (G1-G5)
Lumbini Academy provides a solid academic foundation of concepts and skills in the areas of mathematics,
English (4 skills), Burmese, social studies, and science. Library, music, computer and physical education classes
are also integrated into the curriculum to develop students into well-rounded individuals. In all these areas,
students are taught concepts at the concrete level, which become more complex and detailed as the student’s
knowledge and reasoning abilities grow.
SECONDARY (G6-G8)
Lumbini Academy understands that transition from childhood to adolescence can be stressful for middle schoolers
and is a time of rapid growth and development –intellectually, socially and emotionally; thus, we offer a supportive
and challenging learning environment where students learned to be independent, take intellectual risks, and
discover their passions and talents. Teachers at Lumbini Academy understand and appreciate this age group, and
offers advice and help as the students continue their academic journey.
As students reached 9th grade, they have the choice to follow either the public school curriculum or the IGCSE
curriculum, developed by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). In both cases, students will receive
unrivaled preparation for college and for life. Furthermore, in the classroom students will develop critical thinking
skills, and take intellectual risks, while working alongside their peers who are supportive, and distinctly individual.
Students leave Lumbini Academy as confident, critical thinkers, who can lead for the betterment of their
community, country and the world.
