N2510 FTU Datasheet

Overview

An FTTx test unit (FTU) is a major device in the

iManager N2510 system to perform test tasks.
It provides OTDR tests. By detecting the
backscattered energy (generated as a result of
Rayleigh scattering and Fresnel reflection during Dimensions (H x W x D) 43.6 mm x 442 mm x 220 mm
light transmission in the fiber) distribution, the FTU
Humidity 5% RH to 95% RH
measures optical link attenuation, identifies events,
and locates a fault. Working Temperature 25 C to +60 C
The FTU tests long optical fibers on the
Storage Temperature 40 C to +70 C
transmission network and manages OTAUs.
It can be installed at the source end or destination Net Weight 3.7 kg
end of an optical fiber and supports only backward
Raman amplifiers. Applicable Subrack 19-/21-inch subrack

Maximum Power Consumption 48.5 W

Board Slot
Voltage 38.4 V DC to 72 V DC

Reserved or WDM board (optional) TCEM board (mandatory)

Provides 4 optical channels Controls tests and communicates
OTBN board (mandatory) with the N2510.
Fan board (mandatory) and multiplexes/demultiplexes Supports test bus access
optical signals. and optical line tests.
OSIC board (optional):
PIU board (mandatory) Provides 16 optical channels.

Slot 3 Slot 4
Slot 5 Slot 6
Slot 1 Slot 2
Note:
In the transmission networking scenario, users need to install an OSIC board in slot 4.
In the active fiber optic transmission testing scenario, if the number of test links is less than four, users can install a WDM board in slot 1
instead of a WDMU.
If the OTBN board is of version A, the OTBN board provides only an OPITCAL port.
