5l. Using your sources, identify 5-7 key (or buzz) terms for your topic. Develop a set of definitions (look
at the Urban Dictionary for some ideas, or Ambrose Bierce's Devil's Dictionary). NOTE: You may NOT
simply cut and paste definitions you find on the internet--you must devise your own. NOTE 2: Urban
Dictionary is a crowd-sourced site, so you should think critically about the material you find there--
where there are troll-ish definitions of terms, you should consider the ethical dimensions of
homophobic, misogynistic, and racist internet talk.

Global warming: A cautious incline in the overall temperature of the Earth's atmosphere. Attributed by
the greenhouse effect caused by the level increase of carbon dioxide.

Climate change: A change in global climate patterns.

Pollution: A harmful/poisonous substance in the lower atmosphere of the planet that is present.

Weather: When an area of the atmosphere is affected by wind, rain, heat, snow, sunshine, etc.

Environment: The settings or surroundings in which a person, animal, plant or living thing functions.

Carbon dioxide: A gas that is colorless and odorless which is created by the burning of organic and
carbon compounds as well as respiration.
