1. SHORT DEFINITION

Sometimes a text directly tells the definition of the unknown


word.
Tip- The brief definition is signaled by a word or a punctuation
mark.

2. SYNONYMS AND ANTONYMS

Sometimes a text gives a synonym OR antonym of the

1. Prefixes- set of letters at the beginning of a word


that has its own meaning
2. Root Words- the most basic part of a word
3. Suffixes- set of letters at the end of a word that has
its own meaning
