Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of
Engineering is the outcome of the vision of Dr.
Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL Technologies Ltd.,
a pioneer in the field of Information
Technology. Mr. R. Srinivasan, Chairman, SSN
Institutions, Mrs. Kala Vijayakumar, President,
SSN Institutions and the Principal Dr. S.
Salivahanan facilitate the good governance of
the institution. The Institution reflects the ideals
of its founder to achieve excellence in advanced
research in Information and Communication
Technology domains.
The institution was established in 1996 on a
sprawling campus of 250 acres at Rajiv Gandhi
Salai (OMR) known as “Cyber Corridor” of
Chennai. The campus comprises aesthetically
designed buildings that are networked by fiber
optic cables and WiFi. The institution offers
eight B.E./ B.Tech. Degree programmes and
eight M.E. degree programmes in addition to
MBA and MCA. Admission is done purely on
the basis of merit. The Institution is certified
with ISO 9001:2008 and the UG and PG
programmes have been accredited by NBA.
About ECE Department
The Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering offers B.E.
Degree Programme in ECE and M.E. degree
programmes in Communication Systems,
Applied Electronics and VLSI Design. The
department is recognized as a Research Centre
by Anna University Chennai for perusing
Ph.D. and M.S. (by Research) programmes.
The department has a team of 41 dedicated
and experienced faculty members out of which
15 faculties hold Ph.D. degree. Currently the
department has several funded research
projects for a total worth of Rs. One crore. The
department has state-of-the-art laboratories
with advanced software and hardware to
facilitate research in major areas of ECE. The
department has organized several FDPs, REGISTRATION FORM
STTPs, workshops, national and international
conferences sponsored by Anna University, National Workshop on
