The goal is for this 5th grade class is to practice reading a book with other
students and recognizing what words they struggle to pronounce correctly.
They will see which words they had trouble with as they go back and watch
the recordings of each other speaking. After getting an understanding of
what words were the hardest to pronounce, they will be able to practice the
correct pronunciation using quizlet before the test at the end of the week.

1. Take turns reading Charlottes Web aloud with partners while
recording themselves.
2. Students will go through the video and find the words that the
group struggled to pronounce.
3. Practice pronouncing the words with the class quizlet to get the
 learning objectives pronunciations down.

Procedures
Steps you will take to complete
this lesson. How long, group
work, individual work,
discussion, etc.
Students will get in groups of three. They will then read the first chapter of
Charlottes web and take turns videotaping each other reading with the IPad.
After video-taping themselves, they will upload the video to youtube. Then,
they will watch their video and find their errors in pronunciation. After 30
minutes of this, as a class, we will go through the student’s notes on their
videos and make a list of the words that we struggled pronouncing.

Formative Assessment
This would be a short
assessments that you would use
to find out what students know.
You may use tools such as
Kahoot, quizlet or Google
Forms
I will create a quizlet containing the words the groups struggled with. While
using the features on quizlet to practice learning the words, students can
push the volume button to listen to how correctly pronounce the word. I will
also have them take the quiz offered on quizlet twice and record the highest
of the two scores.

Summative Assessment I will take each student into the hallway and give them a list of words. They
Final assessment will be graded on the correct pronunciation of the words.
