Traditional art Bantengan, is a
performing arts and cultural traditions that
combines elements of dance, though
Kanuragan, music, and poetry or spell that
is very thick with a magical feel.Bantengan
players believe that the game will be more
interesting if it had entered the stage of

B. History of Bantengan – Taufiq Choir


Bantengan is a traditional folk art in Mojokerto and then developed into an art
tradition that for generations by the community. Bantengan now experiencing rapid
development in the district of Mojokerto, especially Pacet. Because this art is believed to be
the birthplace of the area's art Bantengan. However, not only in Pacet, Trawas also many arts
groups Bantengan.Bantengan folk art comes from District Pacetprecisely in the Made village
which was once a village adjacent to the slopes of Mount Welirang. It is said that these lands
are a lot of life assortment of wild animals including bull that can now be said to be extinct in
the area.

C. The origins of controversy Bantengan – Maya Novita


Controversy about the ownership of Bantengan was debated many people. Some
people say, the ownership of Bantengan is Pacet Mojokerto, but others people say the
ownership of Bantengan is Batu or Tumpang Malang Regency. Could not be ascertained,
whichis actually the first to bring the arts of Bantengan. Why is that?
May be the arts is true came from Batu, Tumpang, and Pacet Mojokerto. Because
geographically, the areas is forest and highlands. The community of Mojokerto feel they have
Bantengan and be heredity as reward to inventor and art successor of Bantengan.

D. Philosophy of Bantengan – Baladhika Puji L


Bantengan is a communal art means involving more people in every show. As well as
the nature of animal life bull, which live in groups (colonies), this Bantengan culture shape
the behavior of people engaged in to always live in communality, cooperation and uphold a
sense of unity.One example of the cultural behavior of actors Bantengan striking art is

3. Music
In a traditional art performances are not complete without musical accompaniment. So

The most fundamental of musical instruments used in Bantengan is Jidor and Kendang. The
musical instrument is a manifestation of a wide range of changes and development of human
life, where the man is obliged to constantly adapt to the changing times. Musicians in
Bantengan called Pengrawit. The original music in bantengan performance such as Kendang
and Jidor must be available.
The first beats Jidor, Bantengan will be started, marking the start of Gebyak
Bantengan. Jidor and Kendang should be beaten until the end Gebyak should never stop
because it will make the player in a trance. Jidor rhythm called Jidor Kerep that sounded

G. Art Function Bantengan

culture.

Bantengan art functions in the general public or in general as part of a local arts or
cultural arts spectacle of the local area. This activity is usually performed on the activities of

Bantengan art function in a particular community, which is developing the arts. This
function usually is biological spiritual art local cultures. This activity is usually some
important parts to do the Bantengan arts groups, among other things:
