STUDY SKILLS

Study skills are an array of skills which tackle the process of organizing and
taking in new information or dealing with assessments.

Some of the strategies for study skills are listed below.

1. Reduce interference : The better you know the material , the less likely that
interference will occur . Another way is to or make it meaningful , get adequate step
etc.
2. Space it out : Trying to leave all the material in one study session is called cramming .
It is poor way to learn.
3. Use whole and part learning : The third test way is knowing where to breakup the
material.
4. Recite it : Saying back to yourself the information you just learned.
5. Use a student system : A standard method of approaching the study of any material
like Review , Recite , Question etc.

a. MATERIALS REQUIRED

Questionaire - It consists of 52 questions related to the study habits . The

answer will be YES / NO. For positive questions YES carried one mark and for negative
questions NO carried one mark .

Respondent sheet – It helped to analyse the study skills of 20 student

teachers . 32 questions were related to general study methods 33-35 questions were
related to class room skills . 37-39 were home work related question s and 40-52 were
regarding examination.

5. CONCLUSION
i. Among 20 student teachers 7 student teachers have above 30 scores and
have good study skills above the cutoff score.
ii. Among 20, 2 student teachers have exact 30 scores and they also come
under those who have good study skills .
iii. Among 20 , 11 student teachers have below 30 score and do not posses
good study skill .

Study skills affects the level of academic process .l Top students plan as soon as
they receive their syllabi or assignments , determining what resources they need and why
they will do their work . Great students know the value of doing something correctly first
time. If we incorporate specific techniques , it will make a huge difference in our academic
performance.
