Nuclear type level measuring systems are not admitted When applicable high and low alarming

systems shall be provided.

When vessels are used for storing, the construction shall be designed stiff enough avoiding vibration
during filling and emptying time.

Static charge accumulation shall be forbidden on the storage mediums.

Bulk Transfer

The bulk material filling and emptying to and from the storage medium shall preferably be carried
out through a transfer system such as apron, belt, air slide, enclosed screw, drag chain, etc. conveyor
systems.

The material flow beds shall be such that no spillage may occur during transfer.

Limit switches of preferably proximity type shall be employed on the transfer link.

The rotating components shall be well guarded, for protections of the mechanisms and the operating
staff.

Material and construction of the transfer system components shall be of proper quality previously
proved for a similar service.

A local starter panel with all central gear should be provided with a view to the transfer system for
local operation.

Automatic Weighing and Packing

Where end product weighing and packing required, it shall fulfill the following minimum
requirements:

The weighing shall be electronic type with load cells. A microprocessor weighing – system is
preferable.

Provisions shall be made for local viewing as well as remote transfer of the weigh scale readouts as
a compatible signal to the PLANT.

The weighing and packing system shall be interconnected with the transfer chain, so that failure of
either one will automatically stop the other.

The weighing and packing loop shall be of clogg free design so that material will flow easily. Any
abnormalities in material flow should be detected and alarmed. In severe cases this should be able to
stop the transfer chain and the weighing / packing loop.

The weighing system shall be provided with digital scaled readout in SI units located near the
weighing pool.

Packing system must be provided with two counter, one reset able and one un-reset able type.
