CLIMATE IN THE PHILIPPINES

Based on the distribution of rainfall, four climate types are recognized, which are
described as follows:

GLOBAL CLIMATE PHENOMENA

The atmosphere is a dynamic system. The movement of air masses produces weather and
climate. On a global scale, atmospheric circulation results primarily from Earth’s rotation and the
differential heating of Earth’s surface. These processes produce global patterns that include
prevailing winds and latitudinal belts of low and high. Any change in a certain region may
significantly alter the global patterns.
