Comments on the proposal information
Title, synopsis, running time, originality of idea

The title and synopsis for your radio show is both relevant and intriguing as you aim to promote the success of
women within a variety of sports. Although the idea is not completely innovative you were enthusiastic when
discussing how to promote women in sport in an attempt to ensure that their achievements do not go
unnoticed in the media. You have also conducted relevant research into gender stereotypes within sport and
how and why women are reluctant to enter the sporting world which subsequently supported the synopsis of
creating a radio broadcast centred on the success of women within sport.

Comments on the budget

Budget summary feasibility, budget based on professional rates
Your budget for the radio show took into consideration the cost of presenters and how their pay will differ
depending on their presenting ability and status in sport. You also spoke about the cost of equipment however
this could have been improved by acknowledging the cost of individual pieces of equipment and why you
would need them. Overall, the budget is feasible and you took into consideration income from advertising
alongside expenses and managed to work out the profit the broadcast will make annually. However it may be
an idea to explore other ways in which a radio show/company can seek to increase their finances.

Comments on the production schedule and launch date

Dates, timings, activities, location, personnel, resources, contingency plans etc.
You were very specific about who would present your show choosing two well known people in the world of
sport. You also went into detail about when the show would air during the day and how each broadcast would
offer a consistent update on women within sport. In addition you mentioned the show would be broadcast live
from a local city and commented on when the show will first air in order to be able to plan all areas of the show
successfully first.

Your contingency plan was also intriguing with the involvement of social media being a huge factor in attracting
new listeners to a radio show. However you may want to analyse other resources such as promotion on
television, billboard advertisements and also the benefits of having an app designed for people to listen to your
radio broadcast wherever they go. For this you may want to look at applications such as Talksport.

Comments on proposed cast/stars

Profile of leading cast and their unique selling point
You have selected cast members who are both experienced in the presenting world but also noticeable
sporting figures meaning you are providing your show not only with presenting expertise but also an
abundance of sporting knowledge. Choosing both a man and woman for your presenters will also offer an
insight into how both men and women measure the success of female achievements in sport.

Comments on the target audience.

Profile and size of intended target audience and the programme’s appeal to them
Your target audience as the ability to continuously develop to a point where people of all genders can debate
successfully the importance of women within sport. Although the show may initially target women I strongly
believe you have took into consideration how men would be willing to debate the success of women in sport
and how this compares to the success and subsequent acknowledgement of men's success in sport. Therefore
you have created a broadcast that will ultimately appeal to all genders and people of all ages who have an
interest in sport.
 Comments on sample materials
Talk/music/sound effects/dialogue/interviews etc.
The broadcast would benefit from having more fluid transitions between each news bulletins as at the moment
the new stories all blend into one due to having a monotone quality. The broadcast may also be improved by
using a different news presenter for different stories. The interview within your show could be shortened with
the presenter of the show concluding the news bulletin before moving on to reporting the weather.

However you the clarity of presenting voice was good and the news bulletins were informative and insightful.
You also made good use of your jingles and other radio elements such as interviews/vox pops however the
show would benefit from using them more in order to promote the importance of audience participation in
relation to your broadcast.

You were confident and well-rehearsed when pitching your broadcast meaning you were able to elaborate on
the different aspects of your radio show.
