visa exempt countries. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months.
Holders of normal passports issued by the following 8 countries do not require a visa to enter Myanmar for
tourism and business visits for up to 14 days unless otherwise noted:
Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Singapore (30 days), Thailand (for air arrivals only), Vietnam
VISA INFORMATION
eVisa
Myanmar launched the eVisa system on 1 September 2014. eVisas are issued online for tourism and business
purposes only. An evisa is issued within 3 working days, is valid for 90 days from the date of issue and allows a
stay for up to 28 days (for tourists) or 70 days (for business travellers). The fee for a business eVisa is US$70, while a
tourist eVisa costs US$50
Holders of eVisas must enter from one of the following ports of entry:
Yangon International Airport, Naypyidaw Airport, Mandalay International Airport, Tachileik Land Border
Checkpoint, Myawaddy Land Border Checkpoint, Kawthaung Land Border Checkpoint
Holders of diplomatic and official/service passports of Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, China,
Colombia, India, Indonesia, North Korea, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore,
Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam do not require a visa for Myanmar
The validity of e-Tourist Visa approval letter is 90 days from the issued date. If it is expired, entry will be denied.
The validity of your passport must have at least 6 months and 2 blank pages for stamping by the Immigration
Officer.
You have to upload 1 color photo (4.8 cm X 3.8 cm) taken within the last 3 months.
You will receive an email acknowledgement within 1 hour after successful payment
The processing time is up to 3 working days excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays.
Tourists must stay in the registered hotels, motels, inns, guest houses and resorts during the stay in Myanmar.
The e-Tourist Visa is only valid for a single entry. Re-entry will require a new Myanmar eVisa.
In unfortunate case, if your application is rejected, no reason will be provided or can be requested from the
Government of Myanmar.
If you are visiting Myanmar via cruise, please contact your tour agent for prearrangement Visa on Arrival (VOA).
You will not be able to use Myanmar e-Tourist Visa to enter Myanmar via seaports.

1. Applicant Photo: Your photo must be colorful, 2 inches x 2 inches and taken within 3 months.
2. Your scanned passport must have the validity at least 6 months and contain all personal particulars.
3. Your detailed information must have the name of your parents and your spouse (if married), your address and
phone number.
6. Certificate of Incorporation (For Local companies) or Certificate of Registration of Branch Office (For Foreign
Investment companies)
Visa on Arrival - Business
Business Visa on arrival is available for citizens from 52 countries/territories flying into Yangon International Airport,
Naypyidaw Airport or Mandalay International Airport using the application form and with company registration
and invitation documents.
Have a valid passport not expiring for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Myanmar.
Bring two recent (4cm x 6cm) color photos taken within the past six months.
Have the letter of invitation from the sponsoring company in the event of first trip of business study. (Stay cannot
be extended.)
Fully mention the name of the factory, location, the sponsor and the position he holds if he is doing business with
business visa.
Apply for extension of visa with the recommendation of the ministries concerned as well as in accordance with
the existing procedures if he is doing business with business visa.
Produce letter of invitation by the ministries concerned if he is going to attend meetings, workshops, events and
ceremonies.
Not be allowed to engage in any sort of work with or without charges apart from the professions mentioned in
the visa application form.
Stay at the hotels, motels and guest houses holding legal licenses issued by Myanmar Government, and
factories and workshops legally permitted as well as human dwellings; and exactly mention the address he will
stay at.
Make a promise to strictly abide by the existing laws, rules, procedures, orders and directives issued by Myanmar
Government.
Have under-seven-year-old children accompanying parents in the passport granted visa free of charge; be
able to produce the evidence of parent-children relationship if the children are holding separate passport.
Not be allowed to travel to the restricted areas without seeking prior permission.
Report to the office of the township Immigration and National Registration Department concerned at which he
stays within Myanmar mentioning the address of hotels, motels, guest houses, factories and workshops legally
permitted as well as human dwellings.
Depart to the country which he has traveled from by the arrangement of the airline he is using if he is denied
entry.
Abide by the decision of the On Arrival Visa Scrutiny and Issuing Team.
Apply for Visa on Arrival at Airport Immigration Section obtaining the application form either from the airlines in
Myanmar or the following website www.mip.gov.mm of the Ministry of Immigration and Population.
