Summaries

 Set during the Philippine-American war, Heneral Luna follows the life of one of
Philippine History's most brilliant soldier, General Antonio Luna, as he tries to lead
his countrymen against colonial masters new and old, and to rise above their own
raging disputes to fulfill the promise of the Philippine Revolution.

Reaction
Nowadays, people who would rather risk their lives for the sake of their country are rarely
to be found. Its actually unusual and weird to implant in the mind that some would actually do
that. Its hard to choose between your family and your country, but what’s harder is to risk your
own happiness for a satisfying painful death.

Reflection
The film is truly a masterpiece. It isn’t just a film that we could watch and enjoy. It is about our
past, our ancestors who fought for freedom, our motherland! The film didn’t just really focus about Antonio
Luna but also some of the events during the Philippine-American War. For example, it showed how the war
started when there was a misunderstanding between the American and Filipino soldiers. Antonio Luna was
really a good general but very conceited. He really showed his love for his country by risking his life in
battle.
